Yes.... Let's give all of those scapgoats badges, round them up, stash them in neglected corners, let them fester and despair for awhile and then exterminate them with extreme prejudice. Great solution. The end of all our problems. We'll call it the Final Solution. Or, we could let them voice their opinions, but obliterate their IP if their criticism becomes derogatory, which honestly is the problem. Nothing is inherently wrong with voicing criticism. It's lacing it with vitrol, salt, and other horribleness that's the problem. When adults act like children, that's punishable with a natural consequence. So even if it's not a ban, there are other ways to keep things civil between parties. One would be progressively restricting their access to the forum based on their behavior. That way idea's that are thoughtful, respectful, and civil are listened to an enacted. Those that make the choice to be nasty, find their voice shrinking until its gone. It's an attitude problem. That's what needs to be seperated out of the community. Ok maybe the salt can stay. But the other two.... No.
