You had a good run, Mr. Mandela. The work you have done with your time here has left the world a much better, more tolerant place. Do take a well deserved rest now.

    The Emperor protects the virtuous.
  3. He was one of the greatest men of the 20th century, and one of the best representatives of peace. More than grieving his death, we must celebrate his life and his accomplishments.
    He will be missed.

He was 95 "He is now resting. He is now at peace," President Jacob Zuma said late Thursday. "Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father."
  6. Why do people forget that this man led a bombing campaign against the government in the 60s which resulted in a number of civilian deaths.

Probably because it led to something much better? That's history for you.
  8. That's true, and while I respect the man for what he did I'm just a tad disgusted at how many people ignore that.

The means do not justify the means if it means innocents have to die in order to achieve it.
  9. Agree with Tornadium, does a man who orders innnocent people to be killed deserve forgiveness?

Edit: I guess its a bit close to home for us Tornadium xD
  10. Yeah, That's probably it.

I saw a bunch of people on facebook who decry UDA/IRA bombings during the troubles then call Mandela a saint....
