Need suggestion for LSM weapon selection

    First, what is the best power weapon for jump assault? I know power sword has less damage/impact but higher speed. Axe and maul has higher damage/impact and slower speed. What should I choose? One thing I already know is that power fist works awfully. Second, is voice of emperor worth use? I already have master craft heavy bolter and I find voice of emperor is a degrade on almost every aspects except "more suppression". I thought the suppression provided by common heavy bolter is sufficient. Should I keep using mastercraft one? Need suggestion and thank you guys.
  2. Melee is a game of extremes; be the fastest or be the heaviest hitter. With Ground Assault and a shield you can afford to muck around with specialist weapons (eg. the maces) and get away with it.

    For Jump Assault specifically, most take extra fuel for both climbing things and having extra options in a sword duel. The JA can choose when to disengage and go eat a medkit or share his pineapple with his new friend from on top of a roof, where as GAs have no such option. The standard chainsword with all the previously mentioned support gear is often enough to get the job done, unless you want to go chase tanks with a fist.

    Standard Heavy Bolter is sufficient, take the MC one if you really have nothing else to take (and where you are now, you probably don't. I sure as Hell didn't) but normally MC is a trap. I've no real interest in the Emprah's Voice beyond aesthetics, as killing tanky builds (or indeed tanks) is more important than making their screen 150% more shaky. 100% will do.

    In my opinion, choose the most balanced, fitting-all-situation one, the swords, either power sword or chainsword, heavy bolter, and standard bolter.
    But having a loadout with some powerfist can be nice in melee, in case you want to CQC a tank, or if you manage to get behind enemies lines where the devastator are gently showing their back and asses to your mighty fist.
    One simple charged attack and you can enjoy the shooting stars you just created.

    From what I've seen the best idea is to get as much fuel as you can (you can basically lose every DBash and still win the combat if you know how to use fuel to dodge) then pick a weapon based one what LPs you have left, I see a lot of chainswords and powerswords. This is you if go for an AP only approach, if you want to be a mix of AP and AV, Powerfist.

    Powerfist is beast. Once you get the hang of it, you can crush people (literally and figuratively). The auto lock is not good with the PF.

    Sprint attacks are your best friend. Figure out the timing and go for broke.

    In the heavy bolter department, I myself use the Voice of the Emperor, but I do so because of the looks. The extra supression only really helps me at super long ranges. At short ranges, using the Voice of the Emperor can be a mistake.

    It really helps when getting more fuels but JA is brittle like glass bottle lol. Maybe exchanging for enemy lives is the only option.

    Emp's Rap is good on fortress maps, to deny sniping enemies.
    I use chainsword for my JPA, but do power sword if you find penetration a must.
    PF works better on GA, since being slow and brittle is not that great of a combination.

    New weapons? The cult of Mars isn't too keen on the idea of 'new'. What I'd like to see, we had it in that Dawn of War 2 PvE match, Tactical marines with jump packs. Or maybe just Jump assault marines with rifle abilities. 'New' is of course good, but being able to customize what we are already given would expand the weapon abilities exponentially. As a Dark Angels enthusiast, I've always been interested in dual wielding pistols. Maybe a Bolter and a Plasma pistol... >.>
