yes the titus marine are the second company that followed him, that was not only 2 marines but also others marine deployed in others zone of the planet.

it's inconceivable that Titus will be the "good" part and that the ultramarine are the corrupted, because Titus will reappear not as captain of ultramarine but as a chapter master of a new chapter, heretic/renegade.
    creating a new chater.

creating a new chapter is a BIG BIG heresy, even if you are right and is the other part of the chapter/imperium to be corrupted when you "change your color" you become an heretic a traitor and a renegade.

Not just Ultramarines though. We saw a squad of Blood Ravens, Titus even spoke to them and got back-up from then.

No one said that the entire Ultramarines would be corrupted. It could be only a couple of squads, or even just a handful of Marines. Hell, if could be just a single Marine that is corrupted but opens a portal that allows Chaos Daemons and Heretics through. It might not even be the Ultramarines involved at all.

If Titus has been exiled as part of a Death Oath, then he was stripped of his Chapter markings, insignia and and any awards and purity seals. If Titus returns from the Death Oath, having completed it, he could be reinstated into the Ultramarines once more, but what we know of the story for SM2 and SM3 shows that he becomes a Chapter Master to a new Chapter instead. If the Imperium sanctioned the creation of the new Chapter and recognises it, as the information we have implies, then it's not a heretic act.

I think Grig is assuming Titus forms the Chapter while he is a renegade...to which what Xavier says is probably what is going on.

Titus goes "renegade" through the second game and probably intro of the third but by the end of the third he's probably proven himself and achieved something immense so that the Imperium can't deny his true loyalty. He is placed at the lead of a newly formed Chapter...because it isn't like the Ultramarines don't have 50 million successors and it's rare for them to make a new one.

I wouldn't expect you to see many Ultras going rogue with him, probably just a handful and maybe from more than one chapter. It'd be interesting to see what Leandros would end up doing (my bet is he falls to chaos or maybe Titus has to kill him,) and it'd be cool to see Sidonius in a dreadnought

As for GW letting someone do a story, I thought SM had a rather non canon story anyway since the Ultras already have a second company captain.

You're not SUPPOSED to like that part of the Dark Angels. It's their fatal flaw, the bad habit that's making the rest of the Imperium look down on them
  6. Galen Galen Arkhona Vanguard

But the imperium isnt supposed to know about it...im confused right now.
  7. Atlas Primus Atlas_Primus Arkhona Vanguard

Not supposed to know about what? The Dark Angels have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong and have upheld nothing but the STRONGEST LOYALTY for the Emperor throughout their ENTIRE CHAPTER since their creation! Right Brothers? ... Brothers???

@Galen See this behavior Borther Atlas is displaying? It's this that the rest of the Imperium sees, and it makes Inquisitors very suspicious. Said Inquisitors virtually always die under suspiciously unsuspicious circumstances. Combine this with a skewed priority list -- the Dark Angels will withdraw between 50% and 100% of their troops from an engagement to pursue a rumor of a rumor -- and their reputation can take a lot of punishment in a very short span of time

It is the difference between player knowledge and in-universe knowledge. We, as the players, know all the juicy stuff about all the Legions, but in-universe this information is tightly controlled. So basically no-one outside the highest echelons of the Dark Angels know about The Fallen, and likewise with the Blood Angels and the Red Thirst and the Space Wolves and the Curse of the Wolfen.

Also the Ultramarines and being retconned Mary Sues.

Brother Juron. Welcome to the Crusade!!! It is all your decision. We Space Marines all have our faults, but the lore of the 1 chapter is going to be that you like is going to be the 1. We Dark Angels just hope that you choose us over them all.

For the Lion!!! For the Emperor!!!
