  1. Serg Serg First Blood!

This is best for guild play. Whole guild in one platoon formation, I like this.

Some one said something about hard to implement? Id have to disagree they are far easier to implement then Tau, and if I want to play them I see no reason to say a necron player cant get what they need in there living metal/death faction, there IMO basically Futuristic Undead Egyptians, so what the problem is.

As for unit types and game play, I don't have much to add there I looked at there stuff a few times to build counters to some of there awesome, and generally I don't see all that much that is hard to balance, they would yet be a better enemy then a player race, but we got nids for that, and im sure there are more then a few nid players that are sulking about that.

Necrons, are a great force in the 40K universe just about the only faction that can truly say that when they fully awaken to destroy all life that they can continue with out stopping for as long as it takes to win, the orks cant say that the nids tried and failed, and the humans/Eldar would eventually run out of resources to keep fighting for so long, the Necrons are more Technology then they are "magic/Psyker" so while the Tau could make up for a good defense at the start, the shear numbers and teleporting technology that Necron posses would eventually break Tau, and then there would only be Chaos, but with out souls, in the material realm even they would starve eventually even if the materium and immaterium, were nearly merged Machines in general have little to fear of possession or corruption by the dark gods.

I wouldnt mind playing a Flayed One, but i think Necrons are waay off from being implemented.
But id still like to see them as a playable race.

and once again I'll point out the obvious ....

Necrons have the same movement rate on the TT as EVERY other army, they only lack a "fleet of foot" type extra movement option during their shooting phase ...

slow moving Necrons is a DoW concept not a GW rule,

Necron warriors or above still possess all the "combat knowledge" they had prior to becoming "necrodermis'ed" and if anyone honestly thinks that taking cover or breaking into a run is unkown to them as tactics then I'm amazed

Not easy to summarize, because each of us has a slightly different view or concept. Some examples:

Those are some of my favourites, but in any case the thread is full with them.

That is true too. The only "slow" thing they have is their lower initiative in TT, which means melee attack speed. That is easy to balance. Also, while they don't have to fear much from being attacked, being phased out or temporarly destroyed is not an optimal situation either, so they would have no problem on using cover, excepting for their ego.

Wall! Wall! Wall of Words! Hoooooo!
I think of the reanimation as a short animation that gradually repairs/restores HP. So the necron could still be getting shot during it and even stopped with certain weaponry. Possibly vs a bolter the necrons reanimating are only lowered to say 30% HP. But a melta or lascannon could stop the process. Executions too or at least executions with certain weapons.
So to put it simply you're saying Dark Eldar would be spiky Eldar? Great scott! That sounds like a very familiar situation Eternal Crusade is already invested in!:p There are plenty of differences in cosmetics, units, gear and mechanics, as well as a fanbase to warrant their addition. In fact that can be said about every faction. Why else would they be a thing in other gameplay venues (ie Tabletop).

Also Devs already have plans for non-Tyranid AI enemies. So factions added can be playable and PvE enemies. Could even go a playable only in PvE settings like with what Nathan said in a E3 2015 interview with Angryjoe (playable Carnifex). For IG I wonder if they can be treated similarly and made playable in PvE only, like a "Raid" style thing with a bunch of guardsman players. Though ideally every faction should be playable in PvP and PvE.
"For sure, there will even be non-tyranid NPCs to fight at launch. And there are some pretty tough tyranids out there!"

"Titans, as set pieces are by no means something we'd do for launch. This is way future stuff.

But all things like that, which might not be part territorial conquest - but rather part of the dynamic encounters in the open world, between outposts and fortresses, could be fun. You come across a disabled Knight defending himself from NPC raiders. What do you do?

The options are endless and this is an example of a dream of what could come true.

It should be noted that liberties are being taken with Eldar in that "Exarch only" weapon can be used by non exarch players.
    Crusader asked:
"Any plans for Exarch weapons available to the standard classes? I.E. Executioner for Banshees? After all we know in Lore it's only Exarch weapon, but that means basically if there are no other weapons for an Eldar Class except standard loadouts then there is not really much variety.

Or do you guys intend slight lore-bend to allow Exarch weapons for Non-Exarch Eldar?
    "
    BrentEllison answered:
"We plan to have some capacity for using those weapons because as you say, you'd pretty much have no variety as a basic class. ;)"

I don't know how much this sorta thing would apply to Necrons though. Cosmetics wise Eldar can go with craftworld & aspect inspirations. For Necrons it's is as simple as having the fact that there are different dynasties as well as it's natural in any military force to have equipment stylized for the role they fight in. I think EC devs can make a lot of stuff in that regard and even get fans involved in some way. I'd even say it's a waste to not get fans involved with making stuff. Like a Player Studio deal Daybreak does for their games, such as Planetside 2 helmets.

sadly yes ork and eldar are already waay off from being playable, they need st least 3-4 years before have a new playable faction in the game and we have to wait 1-2 years for every new faction. ( if the game will still have sufficent support for justify a new faction.

Yea I don't know were the HELL, people get off assuming that units are SLOW, just cause there big or "undead"

If you have Lumbering behemoth that's dosnt equal slow? You got " slow and purposeful" that dosnt mean slow to walk that just means that you take deliberate steps so that you can maintain steady aim.

One thing that will kill EC for me and has killed all DoW games is the moving and shooting being random and not done right, the TT rules have been perfected over the last what 10 years, and while some rules, tools or abilitys don't translate into a FPS like Black sun filters, others like Fleet, and slow and purposeful SHOULD, but that's my opinion.

actually WH40K has been around since 1987 .... so thats 28 years

or the necron can be another type of NPC like the Tyranids, why not?!
