Necrons As A Pve

Too bad there won't be much to go back to, since your and a couple of others' idea of a discussion (or "talking the lore over") is simply putting out an opinion unsupported by any arguments or facts, and calling any attempt at argument-based discussion "tedious" or "boring".
Not to mention, trying to detract from the inability/unwillingness to use arguments by accusing the very people that actually use arguments of being biased.

And don't get me wrong. I have nothing against people stating pure opinions. However, if you're going to do so, just make your statement - and don't go flaming those that are trying to have a constructive discussion for the very fact that they are trying to have one.

Dont be tedius we all know you are biased.
This said (joking) I rather not have any pve faction. Its lame and unfair for the fans.
Nids fans would love to play with any of those nasty buggers and it would be more fun to face one of those beats co troled by a player than a bot.
Same with necrons. More fun to have them as playable.

I still hope for Nids to have heroic classes to spawn and nom on the other factions from time to time.

Would be amazingggggg to save up a ton of resources and then get to spawn as a nameless Lichtor or Carnifex and just lay into anything that is not a tyranid lol.

I don't see why a factions must be exclusive to PVE or PVP...I think there is room for both using the heroic class system. Imperium PVE faction could be IGs and players can spawn in from time to time as assassins, sanctioned-psykers, etc.

I mentioned this sorta in the "next" faction thread and still think it would be the best way to please all faction fans and expand on pve to give us a more well rounded gaming experience because even though PVP is fun even that gets tedious.

    agreed,

I think a playable version of the 'nids would be a nice addition to EC and a poultice to the wounds of those who would of loved 'nids to be playable in the first place,

I'd never play one personally, just like I'm never going to play an ork,

I doubt there will be any faction that will be both PVE and PVP.
First, you'll have the problem of deciding and explaining which factions would be both. And if you decided, for reasons of fairness or balance, that all factions would be PVP and PVE, you'd have so much PVE content that it would make EC a full PVE game. Not to mention all the work it would require to implement this.

I don't see it too troublesome.

And there could just be a custom subfaction done for the PvE content. Especially if they make a Tomb World in Arkhona, or any other place EC goes into.

Doubt is fine but it is infact very plausible within their current system....like veryyyyyyy easy to do with the existing framework as I understand it.

    So what do we know?
    1. The game has procedural dungeons and they have already hinted at there being more than Tyranid NPCs on several occassions
    2. The game has heroic classes for purchase on the Rogue Trader that are resource/time based character spawns
    3. They will at some point need to expand PVE content and/or variety (Every online game needs to in order to survive)
So with those three things why is it hard to imagine there may be enemy types that are all the exisiting playable classes who can be rigged for the procedural dungeons as "NPCs" that are placed on the "procedural generation tables" based on your existing faction. Meaning if you were chaos you could enter an instance that has Space Marines, or Orks, or Eldar that may be basic character models in the game and slightly geared up ones as bosses.

Then with that plausible situation, you can also incentivize BE to create Tyranid hero classes for example which will undoubtedly sell for Tyranid fans and even enhance "world PVE" events against tyranids having player "synapse" creatures strewn through the rush of nids. Those tyranid hero classes would simply have their own resource you collect from your current faction and when you feel like having some quick play you can spawn as a Tyranid without worrying about your own faction or specific tactics or reputation.

So again with both of those scenarios, how would it be so hard to imagine a new race like Necrons or Tau getting the same treatment to give BE more PVE content, new races for players to play, and more items to sell for profit on the shop...its all a win, one big win for everyone involved.

You get your Crons that alot of people want solely as NPC, people who like Nids's get hope to play as the big monsters from time to time, PVErs get more content or variety of content, and PVPers get more PVP in their PVE race events.

Don't doubt, just compromise *puts on Tau Battle suit* for the GREATER GOOD!!!!

Having a race be both PvP and PvE completelly nulifies the idea of having a PvE race in the first place.
What good is a balancing factor if it is allied with one of the factions?

    Totally agree.

There are plenty of successful PVP games that haven't expanded the (small) PVE content they have. Best example is League of Legends.

Also, it's all about what the devs spend their limited time on. I'd much prefer them spend time on balancing and creating new content for PVP, than add more PVE content. And in a game that is supposed to be mostly PVP (85%), I think that's a reasonable expectation.

Difference with LoL is that is an entire separate category of game and they still have NPCs where players can do nothing but farm them for their team. Moba vs MMO scale and scope are veryyyyyyy different but still there is a form of pvp in those small matches when compared to 3 month campaigns of 24/7 pvp.

I didn't say make raids or anything did I? I coulda sworn what I mentioned was simply changing the NPC models, not even using a new system than what exists in game.

Heck I even made an option to add PVP players into PVE events through hero nid classes so I increased PVP just for you!

Eve online a PVP sandbox even introduces new PVE from time to time. You are still all about exclusion without compromise when compromise is in the best interest for the community without sacrificing the core game as I hope I illustrated in my post.

I am sorry but you are a stubborn old necron arent you lol
