You are absolutely right. From an overall tactical viewpoint nothing beats Night Scythes. Such a fast troop transporter. What more do you want?
But from a fun perspective... the Doom Scythes rock!

well i just googled newcron vs olcron and newcrons dont seem that appealing. I cant believe they changed so much about the core of being a necron... also I'm sad to hear theyre as fast as everyone else in the TT. Im fine with the fastest vehicles but I like their slow and intimidating stroll in DOW.

Read my posts in this thread. I explain in great detail why the changes not only were necessary but also logical and elegant.
The Newcrons are MUCH better than the Oldcrons. Especially for Necron players.

I'm not a fan of the slow speed but a better tweaking of the old lore is lightyears better then their new fluff. Hopefully they'll retcon the worst parts of the newcrons and make them half decent again. They can keep the egyptian motif at points but it needs to be a bit more subtle. The new ones have nice color to them but they just scream "I'm a rubric marine terminator suit" Thousand Sons go go

The way the rule reads, it's just a variable-length Torrent weapon right? Heck the average of a 3d6 roll is ~10, only 2" longer than the template a Torrent weapon would use but without the width (unless you're using a ruler to represent the line, but that's a dick move: use string).

Granted S10 AP1 is super-painful on any kind of AoE, especially one that you can place without scatter like a Torrent, but some Hydras can easily outrange it. Plus based on the description it can't hit flyers (due to effectively being a template weapon, and the need to be "under" the line), so he could bring some Vendettas and swat it out of the sky with twin-linked lascannons.

Though if he doesn't have any Hydras or Vendettas (and with those GW prices I understand, dayum) I can see why he'd be upset at any air unit, at least one of those is pretty necessary if your opponent fields air at all.

You wrote your opinion again and again and again and tried to shove it down other people's throats. That is what you did.

I mean, seriously? You're going to tell me, with bias dripping out of every word you write, that the new Necron lore is objectively superior to the old one? Please, get a grip. The old lore actually had something going on for itself, it was not "Vampire Counts in spesh" or "mechanical Tyranids" or whatever and many people actually liked it.

The fact that you perceive it in a certain way is perfectly fine. The fact that you like the new lore is also perfectly fine. But that doesn't mean that anyone at all should bow down to your opinion, no matter how many times you repeated it or how fervently you try to present it as being anything else than your subjective opinion.

when it comes to necron backstory I think 4dchan has it nailed at the bottom of her page about them when she compares old to new,

but basically its yes, the old lore had some great bits, and the new lore has some great bits...some retconning to splice the great bits together and theyd have an awesome backstory,

its just a shame that in moving from old to new some bits were left on the cutting room floor and the whole process was done about as delicately as using a chainsword to preform a vasectomy

I actually lay out my opinions, providing plenty of arguments that might be refuted by good counter-arguments.
Problem is, no one bothers to provide any. It's just "Necrons as PVE, kthxbye!"

Where are the counter-aguments refuting all the contradictions and inconsistencies in the old lore?

Where are the counter-arguments explaining why we could field Chaos God level Star Vampires on the table top?

Where are the counter-arguments refuting that the old Necrons' motivation was basically the same as the Tyranids'?

Where are the counter-arguments refuting that the old Necrons were Vampire Counts in space?

Please don't disparage my efforts trying to explain the new lore - which, like it or not, is canon.

Newcrons, oldcrons all argument of which is superior is subject to personal taste although when compared to the other races and being more unique that may be a point of discussion

Still my opinion is make them a Hybrid PVE/PVP race using only Heroic units so BE can make the players exceptionally strong and the faction overall more dangerous without having them detract from other factions player count 24/7 and make them a rare dangerous foe.

If not, my guess is they will be made NPC only as things appear in player polls and BE's current logic for NPC factions combined with the need for future content variety at some point and the perception that Crons fit the perfect enemy role being "terminators" be it true or not.
