Even before the Necron Lord finished his instructions Ovaius had already placed a mark on a giant scorpion. A nano-second after the instructions were finished a blast from his disintergrator vanquish the first of the scorpions. Not even the body survived, as it burned into non-existance, the disintergrator ripping it apart atom by atom. A second and third shot and mark reduced the number of scorpions to two. Ovaius was only able to take another one down before the last one reached the base of the mountain and one of the tunnel entrances, but he need not worry (even if he doesn't have that ability anymore). A torrent of gauss blasts from the mountain's base and the advancing necron warriors and immortals out of the cave more than told him who the victor of the engagement was. He turned his attention back on the tau encampment, and soon his mark and disintergrated bodies began appearing on the edge of the defenses.
Zytrex listened to his lord's orders intently, and sighed internally. They were ordered to scramble their retinue and aid in the attack. A shame, he thought, for they had arrived near their destination and were now looking at it atop a large hill; a Tau communications array. Only lightly guarded by infantry and a few battle-suits. The low walls were protected with twin-linked plasma turrets and mostly likely by many other unseen defenses. Several antennae arrays spun around the tall tower, picking and transmitting messages. Vital tactical messages, possibly. He walked back to his retinue whom all had already been given the new orders to, and boarded the nearest Ark. From the corner of his eye he saw the Lychguard standing impassively as ever - eager for new orders. As he was about to give the order to embark an idea formed in his devious mind. An idea that would benefit the Necron forces greatly. With that in mind he sent a message to the Necron Lord, "My lord," He started, "May I recommend splitting the force accompanying me, for the communications array is most likely vital for the Tau and its destruction would difficult their command order greatly - thus granting us the chance of lowering our expected rate of casualties greatly. Your humblest of servant" And now, he thought and lowered his hand, we wait. OOC; I'm going to have a long day tomorrow so won't be partaking for a while.
OOC: Ack! Sorry sorry kinda lost track of the days there, back now! Tohltek grumbled as the orders were suddenly filled, and the path laid out on the ground to guide him to it. Slowly he took off along the ground, the soft humming of his anti-gravitational generator filling the silent room. After a short travel the light of the surface reflected off the black metal body that was Tohltek. When he reached the surface he was not granted the sight of legion after legion of warriors marching, but the sickening sight of forests and foliage. Not only did Tohltek realize he was alone, but now he realized something was wrong with his orders. He was at the very spot they requested he be, and yet he was alone. Tohltek lowered his head and glared around, hoping there is a proper explanation for this. As he looked around he began warming up his heavy cannon, thinking a bit of insubordination might teach whoever this is a lesson on destroyers.
OOC: to my knowledge the Necrons do not really know dafuq is going on, therefore your character cannot take the word "Tau" and their types in the mouth except what has been seen. I mean I don't see a problem with it really, depending on how lore-close we want it. After all our Tombworld was not resurrected from someone and got the database updated but rather through an anomaly / timer ; my 2nd paragraph is referring to the Heavy Destroyer "I want them to act as they want... I want to learn how they fight.... We need to adapt to this time..." He replied to his Cryptek, respecting his opinion but already having formed his own plans. "Attack from the South-East, keep the enemy occupied and learn from them, salvage their technology and report what it can do... Observe the research but let Vitokh lead the force to battle." He decided now, seeing that the Cryptek's curiosity is once again too big for his tactical goals, though his knowledge and creations were undeniable and required for the Lord's future success. Ythak turned around on his ark and felt as something was amiss but could not say what just yet. Was it the even slower speed than usual of the Monolith behind him and his ark, or was it that the Tombworld resurrected to slow? He was not sure... ~~~ Tau Forces "Enemy spotted." The pathfinder says and aims upon the floating warrior, marking him for the XV-18 Team who deactivated their cloak and fired together upon the Heavy Destroyer, the bright lights of fusion fire gaining the attention of a specific Deathmark as well as proving too weak to penetrate the necrodermys just yet. "Status report!" The Commander demanded and got them in all at once. East - Stalemate, South - Incoming forces, West - more monsters from this world which seem to attack the Tau in some kind of last resort act, never having attacked during the construction until the energy signatures in the southern mountains occurred where an Earth Caste team has disappeared from when they were sent to make analysis of the ores and resources there.
Ovaius sees several enemy scouts pointing primitive lasers at the heavy destroyers attacking, then a missile volley followed. Even the lowest of guardsmen could see what was happening, and within the next few moments all the pathfinders disappeared as a green blast from the mountain disintergrated them with deadly precision.
Name: Aethilas Class: Cryptek, Harbringer of Eternity (Chronomancer) Gear & Weaponry: Aeonstave and an amulet he retrieved from the corpse of a superior of the Old ones to enhance his powers in combat. Background: A vast battlefield appeared before his eyes. A glimpse from the War in Heaven where Necrons and C'tan fought against the Old Ones and the Eldar. Aethilas aided his army in this war as best as he could with his abilities to bend time and space. Repenting projectiles with his Timesplinter Cloak and rendering many foes helpless with his time bubbles. He used the commotion of the battle to split himself from the forces as soon as he saw that the Necrons had the advantage with a small force of one Deathmark and 3 Immortals that he could convince to follow him by telling them that they would find a mighty artifact. They ventured deep into Old one territory, annihilating any foe they came across when the Deathmark asked: "This temple?" Aethilas answered: "Yes, i hope you know what awaits us." The Deathmark replied: "It will be difficult and there is the shield sorrounding the temple." Aethilas just said: "I know." With superior tactics they outsmarted and killed the Eldar forces guarding the temple. "We can't penetrate this shield and we don't know how to deactivate it. What now, chronomancer?", asked the Deathmark, slowly doubting the purpose of this mission. Aethilas didn't reply to him and touched the shield. He seemed to be concentrated on something. The Deathmark spotted a large force of Eldar and Old Ones moving closer to their position. "They are aaporaching quickly. We shouldn't have split ourselves from the rest.", said the Deathmark anxiously while the Immortals prepared for the battle. The Deathmark looked back to Aethilas as it seemed that he somehow has bend the shield in a time and space vacuum. Aethilas smashed his Aeonstave against this vacuum causing a hole in the shield. He then yelled: "Quickly!" They ran inside the shield and the hole closed behind them. Aethilas suddenly stopped and said: " Move forward and distract the Old One while i prepare to kill him.", ordered the chronomancer and disappeared in the empty halls of the temple. The necron group moved forward and assaulted the elder Old One they've encountered in the center of the temple. A fierce battle took place as the elder Old One was a mighty psyker. He forced all Immortals to phase out with his psychic blows. As the elder Old One concentrated himself on last time for his strongest attack to defeat the Deathmark Aethilas appeared and used his Aeonstave first to trap the Old One in a special time and space prison and then killing the Old One with his own attack unleashing on himself. Aethilas approached the dead Old One and took his amulet. The amulet resonated with an odd glow together with the Aeonstave. "We'll have to phase out. The shield went down. Enemies are near.", said the Deathmark grabbing his Disintegrator from the ground. Aethilas just stood there silently and replied: "Join forces with the others." The chronomancer smashed his staff against the floor letting a gigantic Timesplinter Cloak appear, totally freezing everyone caught within in time except both Necrons. This ability consumed so much power that Aethilas had to phase out and hoped to master this ability one day... OOC: I hope it is ok. xD
The gunfire fried and plastered across the necrodermis of Tohltek before he even realized what was happening. His sensors were so focused on his faulty objective that he never noticed the organics appearing, but now they had his full attention. He turned slowly and brandished his heavy cannon at two unfortunate interlopers who had the misfortune of standing inline with each other. In one expertly predicted shot, most of the upper half of both vanished in a flash of green. Killing these vermin was not a pleasurable act, it was simply a task as a builder would describe chiseling stone. Flash after flash exploded from the forest as the unprepared attackers were no match for the unbridled firepower of a heavy destroyer.
Vitokh stood at the front of the ghost ark he was on. It was gliding quietly towards the southern wall. The ark was flanked by two other arks. Both containing the warriors placed under his command by the great lord Ythak. In his own ark where the rest of his Lychguard and the Cryptek he was sent with. He was ready to attack the wall, and ready to fight what lay beyond. Vitokh turned to the pilot of the ghost ark, "Report" The pilot replied "We are nearing target destination. All units on this ark are functioning at one hundred percent" "Excellent" Vitokh replied, "Contact the other arks, tell them I must know the troops under my command" Immediately the numbers of warriors were broadcast to Vitokh, ten immortals, five with gauss blasters and the other with tesla cannons on one ark. Fifteen warriors on the other ark. All functioning at full capacity. This pleased Vitokh greatly, as he took his position at the front of the ark, once more. Waiting. Ready.
OOC in basic yes, but where is the character now? awoken already or not? also try to make here and there some paragraphs otherwise you will have just a wall of text like you had there. With the fire support of the Deathmark and his own powers, the Heavy Destroyer has proven his own strength, also his sensors starting to power up to true full capacities and as desired by the Necron Lord a link between Tohltek and the Deathmark Ovaius was established. Luckily this just happened as 3 Orca Dropships landed ~2km north of the Heavy Destroyer's position, deploying Fire Warriors and Heavy Weapon Support along a few Pathfinders, determined to take down the Heavy Destroyer and his long-range ally. "Incoming Enemy!" Was yelled among the channels and instantly the Broadside Cruisers on top of the wall turned to the south-east, firing upon the three Arks which closed in at high speed, the Pathfinders aiming on them to give aid support to their allies. Immediately Concentrated fire has opened upon the Arks and their contained warriors the moment they got into range. Yet it was just the Tau's first line of defense... In the meanwhile Lord Ythak made it far over the west-side, still hidden as the Tau were too busy concentrating on his other forces. *Just as expected...* He thought to himself, skimming through through the wild huge beasts of the World which did not even dare to engage him, feeling his strength and aura of death. Soon.... Soon his moment to bring death would come... And so the devastating strike to bring these invaders down and take the world back and make it truly his once again. He closed his eyes and remembered what happened millenias ago, just as he started his rebellion at this very place... At the start only Vitokh and his guard, Tohltek, Ovaius and Zytrex on his side. That is all he needed to fell the Lord who ruled here... He was a wasteful Lord, requiring way too many troops for just a little amount of enemies... But Ythak, oh yes... Ythak was a small Lord in his ranks and unappreciated, his tactics and advice always ignored... He remembers how he used the same tactics he does right now.... Vitokh and his Lychguard attacked the main forces of his nemesis at a wide plateau, causing them to get surrounded but with their phalanx they held stand every attack just as long as necessary... Ythak himself went alone in from behind, while Ovaius was causing terror taking one enemy after another out that was leaving the battlefield, hoarding the enemies indirectly together. Zytrex and Tohltek together had destroyed every armored Target, he remembers how Tohltek destroyed a Monolith.... What huge victory it was.... Not to forget when the moment of truth came.... Ythak in a one on one duel within the heart of his fortress , and as he destroyed his prior ruler and took his Orb of Regeneration he stepped out and announced the victory.... And swiftly the world was all his.... He opened his eyes again and smiled within his mind, knowing that the few he remembered were all he needed to succeed. "Destroy the enemy, do not hold back any longer." He ordered finally and everyone knew that the world was soon to be theirs again.
Ovaius opened an informational feed to Lord Ythak, transmitting not only the battle information but an actual live feed from his visual sensor. He continues to fire on the tau as he does this, despite the enemy slowly surrounding Tohltek using their sheer number. He sends a message to Ythak. "My Lord, Tohltek and I have been busy eliminating the forces here. However the efforts have attracted further reinforcements from the enemy. While I can most likely kill every one of these worms before they get in range to even hit me with their pathetic weapons, I fear the same cannot be said for your other loyal servant. I request that a contingency party be deployed to assist us soon, if you do not wish the destroyer to be out of the next few battles, being tended to by our Canoptek Spyders." The deathmark concludes his message as he removes another tau fire warrior from the planet with his disintergrater. The bulk of the enemy doesn't even try to engage the deathmark, preferring to dispatch the closer of the two first before moving up the side of the mountain towards the summit.
