Vitokh looked at the huge battlesuit collapsed on the floor. He walked towards it. Vitokh reached for the head and ripped it off. Revealing the pilots bare head. "Foolish creature, you cannot defy the necrons!" He said as he grabbed the pilots neck. "You have failed! failed to guard your world" tightening his grip, "failed to guard your life" tightening even more, suffocating the tau," and failed to even guard your own leaders!" He said to the tau, before twisting and snapping it's neck. Blue blood poured over vitokh's hand. The last riptide was dead.
OOC: I assume you meant a Riptide not a heavy XV-88 Broadside OOC: will be interesting especially since Tohltek is important to Ythak The Last defense was gone, The Necrons reigned again.... But how many more cities were on his world? But that did not matter at this moment, the Necron Lord stepped out of the central building, standing in front of what was similar to a podium. "My loyal subjects! We emerged victorious with this little strike force! With my tactics and your talents, every foe will fall! And to assimilate and learn about the new enemy I brought their leader under my control! Now my fellow Necrons, we will take this city, rebuild it and make it our capital, our center of operations!" He then turned to Ovaius in particular. "Ovaius, take the other revived Deathmarks and scout this world, find every animal, every city, everything that is somehow of value to make this wowrld completely ours." Next were his Crypteks. "You did a great job during the assault, now do what you are best in, analyse the new enemy and the battle, return to your research facilities in the tombs or set new ones up here." Last but not least his loyal and most skilled melee warrior. "Vitokh, organize the warriors, setup a defense in case of reinforcements, use any re-awaken Necron of our tomb to ensure safety, I will oversee further resurrections as well as the interrogations of our new.... member." He said and manned an Ark, the Tau Commander hanging on it too, while the Necron ships flew in circles over the conquered city after fulfilling their goal and all enemy ships had been destroyed. On Ythaks' way he saw his fallen heavy destroyer and ordered the Ark to stop, grabbing his Resurrection Orb he held it high, it emitting it's light to bring back the fallen around him, especially the Heavy Destroyer Tohltek. OOC: this gives some time to interact with eachother and give some character input.
Construction scarabs poured through the eternity gate of the first monolith within the city. They began clearing up and reassembling the walls. They fitted gauss turrets around the perimeter to make sure that anything trying the breach the walls would be annihilated by gauss fire. Warriors and immortals came from the portal and lined the walls, ready to destroy anything that came close to the city. Canoptek spyders came forth too. Ready to spawn canoptek scarabs or aid in the repairs at a command. Vitokh was satisfied with these defences. He sent the remaining monoliths to different areas to keep the defence force at strength and to provide extra fire power if needed. With his order set completed. He waited for more orders, or for a request to be made.
Ovaius requested a rapid strike force of three arks full of necron warriors and immortals from Lord Ythak over the communication feed, which the Necron Lord promptly granted (I asked Urian in a PM if this was ok, wanted to keep the posts long and actiony). Assembling the awaken snipers, Ovaius devised a plan and transmitted it into their processors: With the exception of Ovaius, every deathmark available will pair up and cover a quadrant of the planet's surface, each team will constantly give feedback to the main Necron Army here. If for some reason a team stops transmitting, the strike force will descend upon the last known location of that said team, engaging any enemy and searching for the team as need be. The deathmarks are ordered specifically to not engage any hostiles unless absolutely necessary, focusing on their mission to recon the planet and report back. Each unit with his instructions, the scouts began scattering into the wilds, climbing mountains and through the deserts that covered this planet. Ovaius himself headed west where the giant scorpions originated, stepping over the creature's corpses as he headed into the blazing desert.
Tohltek awoke slowly, warning signs and message blared across his vision. His harness was completely trashed, heavy gauss cannon damaged ons lost all levels. Surprisingly though his mind weathered the storm. As he looked around he realized he was no longer inside the city walls, apparently the blast and sent him sailing through the air into the sense forests outside the walls. He looked around slowly and found himself up to his waist in the dirt at the bottom of a crater he assumed he made. Without a second thought Tohltek reached up and tore his useless arm from his body, slowly tossing it aside despite the flashing and blaring in his head to wait for aid. This act of brutality was followed shortly by another. In one motion tohltek ripped his upper body from his chassis, leaving him from the hips up with only one functioning arm. Were it not for his augmented targeting system, his figure could be easily confused with any warriors. Without the pain receptors or blood that organics possessed, tohltek in this state was not a dead man as any other creature would be, he was still a mighty warrior after all. Slowly Tohltek began dragging himself out of the crater, unaware that survivors of the horrors inside the city were heading his way.
OOC: my necron lord kinda revived Tohltek with the Orb of Ressurection in my last post After the Necron Lord was pleased with he results he executed the Tau Commander, informing his subjects about the situation. "It seems the enemies we encountered is a young race called the "Tau" they originate in the eastern fringe of the galaxy where we shall strike them down and take what is theirs... But reinforcements are coming and we need to be ready.... It seems this was the first base of them during a fresh expansion, a scout team of theirs found our tombworld and resurrected us by accident, for this awakening we shall grant them death...." He feeded them all the information and returned to his army in his finally resurrected Catacomb Command Barge, standing tall, 2 Monoliths spitting out of different exits of the mountain chain, heading also for their new HQ. "Well done Vitokh, well done... No enemy shall break that line of defense, so stand at my side and let us wait for the incoming reinforcements." He said to him after inspecting the Defense, having known he would do a fantastic work, which is the reason that he was ordered with this task in the first place. "Ovaius, anything you can make out that could harm my plans? The Commander revealed nothing about other of their troops, so if you like to feel free to hunt the beasts that might interrupt our awakening, but make sure to be ready when their reinforcements come." His left hand rested on his chin as he looked at the night sky. "Would they really be foolish enough to challenge us, though we have the absolute advantage?" he says out loud, probably loud enough that Vitokh could be aware of his words. OOC: whoever posts next can already make the Tau reinforcements come in, just keep in mind they should be a huge force, like major battle force of a few hundred thousand fire warriors, several tanks, orbital ships, etc. This is the point where we also lose some things
"Ovaius, anything you can make out that could harm my plans? The Commander revealed nothing about other of their troops, so if you like to feel free to hunt the beasts that might interrupt our awakening, but make sure to be ready when their reinforcements come." Ovaius got the message as he stroll through the ashpiles that was once the main giant scorpions hive. He analyses the reports so far. The teams that covered the largest desert on the planet reported nothing, with the exception of one. A pair of deathmarks reported that they saw a skeletal figure in the distance, but upon further inspection they could uncover nothing. Ovaius suspects that their ancient enemies, the eldars, may have discovered the Necron's reawakening on this planet already. The teams that spread throughout the mountains reports that there are more tombs at the base of the lowest mountains far to the polar south, and that the mountain itself is another ancient Necron city that have been eroded with time. None of the warriors of that tomb have awaken yet but there appears to be some scavengers amongst the machines. After a day or so they reported again, having captured one of the graverobbers hoping to gain some treasure deep in the construct. The deathmarks ambushed and kill the other of the party, but kept this one alive, since it was not the "tau" that Lord Ythak had named before. An ark was deployed to pick up the subject (OOC: a human that was serving a rogue trader) and the scouts, as the subject would long expire before reaching back to the necron base on foot. A team went missing during the exploration of the canyons to the far east, and the two remaining arks full of warriors and Immortals descended upon it with great haste. Upon arriving, they discovered the remains of the scouts everywhere at the bottom of a trench that runs between the canyons when some feral flayed ones ambushed them. After suffering a few casualties from the surprise, our warband struck back and destroyed all of their attackers. Unfortunately one of the ark full of fighters were infected, and upon Ovaius' orders were subsequently destroyed completely. Ovaius recommends sending a larger warband to search and destroy all feral necrons in the canyons, lest they undermine our efforts to dominate this planet unopposed later. With that Ovaius sent his report via the information feed to Lord Ythak. He climbs out of the hive and begins looking for another as he awaited further orders.
Lord Ythak shook his head slightly but was overall satisfied with the performance of Ovaius' scouting. "Your requests are granted, Ovaius. Find and destroy everything that could oppose us, this planet has to be completely ours, also send me the captured creature that I may examine it on my own." He climbed down from his Command Barge, stepping into the building that seemed to be the Tau's command center of operations. His Lychguard following him and scarabs working all around them. Ythak sat down on the throne that was built for him here, right infront of the holo-table that was modified to his use, commanding it to display the orbit, seeing the incoming Tau fleet. "Tell me Vitokh, my loyal Lychguard... How would you fight such huge invasion force?" the loyal protector was asked, just as the Lord enjoyed to do whenever there was time to think about a battle, it was never wrong to elaborate with the own troops he thought, also it was more interesting to find the perfect solution with others rather than alone.
Vitokh thought. He studied the projection. "My lord, We should use canoptek wraiths, when it is dark, to cause terror within their infantry ranks. For they will not know what is ripping apart their squads. We should also use canoptek spyders to create scarabs. We can use themto eat through their tanks and armour. This is my suggestion" Vitokh bowed to lord ythak.
Ythak rolled the Orb of Resurrection in his hand back and forth. "I see, why not our Immortals to rip their tanks through, we have plenty of them and the Spyders are required to keep everything maintained and running?" He counter-argumented, ideas forming in his mind. "Also that does not solve the fleet problem, their technology is advanced for such young species, they managed to destroy a Monolith with a single Battlesuit and their orbital weapons destroyed dozens of Warriors.... Have you noticed a weakness among them as you fought them in person, Vitokh?" He asked him now directly gazing down on him from his throne, getting a very solid idea of a battle plan now.
