Necromunda Rp Planning And Ooc

    At this point, this is more of a question than a declaration. I think that Necromunda is a perfect setting for an RP. I'd like to start one up, but not in the usual set up of RP we use on this forum.

    I'd use something akin to the rule book stats. It'd mostly be for reference sake, but I'd ensure that someone with, say, a higher melee skill would have a better chance to injure someone with a lesser melee skill in hand to hand combat.

    After some thought, I think it'd be better/easier to use one gang for everyone, with the option of controlling a couple of characters each (your first character is free, any extras would be bought). The idea of trying to co-ordinate multiple gangs, and having them go PvP, seemed like a headache waiting to happen.

    I'm considering the idea of setting out a grid map, with the goal being to take territory (so control the grid square, one square = one mission/fight) and wipe the other gangs out. The captured territories would (probably) give an income after each completed mission, divided around the players. More territory = more money, and thus better and/or more characters.

    We'd need an elected leader, to decide where the gang goes. It could be changed, should the leader die or otherwise to deposed from his position.

    There'd be a couple of classes to pick from, each with access to different weapons/traits. I'd use a credit system for upgrades, same as the game. So players 'buy' their equipment, rather than simply having it from the get go (bar the basic free stuff.)

    An exp system would be bound to cause a headache (I can just see an ''I killed 400 guys'' post happening!) so I'd also let traits be bought with credits. Traits would let players specialise in their role, for example they may gain a charge move, or the ability to ambush. More credits would be earned for completing objectives during missions and/or for successful mission completion. Credits would be granted, equally, to each player who survived (each player, not each character. The coice to buy a second character means, probably, neither would be as specialised as a player with one character. But, on the flip side if a player with one character has their guy die then it's back to the drawing board for them).

    Each character would get a finite number of wounds. Sitting missions out would recuperate their health, but death is permanent. There will be medkits and whatnot made available to buy, though.

    So the real question is...would anyone be interested? If there is interest, I'll look at designing the rules (again it'll be my take on things, not literally just the game's rules), the store, the map, etc, and see how it goes from there.

    It certainly sounds interesting and I would have to see the rules first but I'd probably be willing to give things a go as long as it didn't get overly complicated or anything. Always worth some experimentation :D

    Awesome. My worry was whether people would want in. With folks showing interest, I'll look at writing some rules up.

    I'd predict that I'll use something like google docs for parts of this, there'll be a big splurge of data for some things (ie the shop prices, for upgrades/weapons).

    It may take a little while to get the designs done, but I'll get to it.

    I'll reveal the classes probably later today, too.
