I've tried it prior patch, but the dmg wasn't enough back then. Also the "grenade" shot, dealt almost no dmg....and didn't apply any burn. Is it still the same in that subject?
Literally nothing changed about the napalm kannon besides it now actually applies the proper amount of heat which is 100% The aoe is the same as is the channel and reload speeds. Honestly the dead shiny kannon still trumps it as they don't have a chance to react to it while if any healer is nearby or if they have a med kit they can easily save themselves from the dot from the napalm.
I like the napalm, as it doesint kill immediately, it set people completely on fire and as we've tested, the heat almost alwase downs you before you can react, ive had boys in garrison hit who then immediately tried to get health at an ammo crate, they down first. downing enemies reliably is almost better then just killing them, it takes one player to respawn, it takes at least two to recover a downed guy, opening up the medic to shoot as well if he goes for a downed guy your watching.
Quick shot grenades apply the Burn effect the same as the actual kannon shot. I've actually found this quite useful so far, and the alt-fire quick shot has shown me that you can essentially make it stop right at someone's feet with a little practice.
