To the people complaining about EC I propose you step back and just give it some time... Adopt my 3 strike system which is this. Give the devs 3 major content patches worth of time to fix the game. Big patches are slated to be roughly every 3 months meaning this is 9 months and a lot can happen in that amount of time. If a patch gets delayed don't get angry or give it as strike just yet as issues can pop up that are out of the devs hands. I've used this system for every game that left EA and honestly you'll see the biggest changes within the first 3 major content patches and know by the 3rd if it's worth sticking around. Also on a side note to the people saying the game is dead and all that.... It's just sitting at EA levels of players which it never really dipped below it's going to fluctuate between 350-500 till the first major patch so it's not dead it's just "sleeping" as players always come back when patches hit to try stuff out then they back off after seeing what's changed. We haven't had any major content patches since it left EA so the new people won't know this. Anyway feel free to voice complaints and stuff but try not to fly off the handle everyone is frustrated since the game left EA and isn't really feature complete. The founders like myself who are captain+ we have invested a lot more than most people and honestly even I lose my tempter at times as it feels like I've waited ages *see 3 years* for some of the features but I'm trying to hold myself back till the 3rd strike is hit. @Oveur you and the rest of the devs just do what you do try not to get discouraged or demoralized some players will fly off the handle just give them some time and they should calm down. I know I calmed down after venting to you after the twitch stream 2 weeks ago and decided to just step back and let the game bake a bit more before investing a high amount of time into it. Features take time and I understand it I just got frustrated as I'm sure many other players are at this point.
At the rate 40k games are coming out you may have 1 or 2. Honestly with the hype behind deathwing being what it is with minimal gameplay being shown I'm a bit skeptical of it... That and I want a pvp game not another warhammer based left 4 dead. *edit* Damn dog jumped on my keyboard and posted before I was done. Was going to say anyway EC still has potential and 3 major content patches is more than enough time to know if they are going to properly build on the potential.... Here's hoping.
100% I have very very very low expectations since COH 2 they nickel and dimed the player base. They'll end up doing the same thing for DOW3.... I Think SEGA will end up making relic fuck the game up fairly bad. I love Relic but since SEGA got a hold of them it's been really really bad. Loved DOW 1 and 2 though so I'll give it a shot regardless.
DoW3(hopefully), Space Hulk and ... ? Plus, its completely different ganres and while they might be great games, they won't really be any replacement for EC. And there is just lame SMs in Space Hulk to play as. I don't see why the hype for Deathwing is so great though. It'll be Vermintide with guns, it'll be OK coop game, but it won't be EC replacement for anyone, unless you're a die hard SM fanboy who is blind to the genre as long as he plays SM.
Actually, they already did. They are focusing on Blood Ravens story. Space Marine was an experiment they didn't considered successful, therefore quick discontinuation of support for the game.
But it looks beyond terrible, being just a mindless port of TT. How can anyone be hyped for that shit?
