My Apoth Update

Discussion in 'Space Marines' started by Nightkeeper, Jul 21, 2017.

  1. So with the new LP changes I think I figured out a way to give my apoth loadout a white plated master crafted bolter. I got rid of the second wargear thingy that was 15% armor regen for 60 LP and realized the major armor regen trinket is 10% armor regen. The minor trinket of same type is 7.5% armor regen.

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems as though those two trinkets combined at a total of 30LP offer more armor regen than the 60LP wargear that I swapped them out with. I am not complaining by any means, because now my apoth finally has a white plated bolter to match his white armor with what appears to be an improvement on overall stats.

I assume because the only things updated in this were weapons and trinkets. I assume we'll either see a stats pass on the trinkets or an lp pass on the wargear. Maybe a stats pass on those too.

The trinkets are better value per point than anything else.

If you can replace something with a trinket do it.

  4. Yeah I have a feeling they are only getting started with playing around with the LP and stats on stuff.

Yeah the trinkets are awesome now, I hope that they stay that way and they just focus on adding more for when next trinket patch rolls out.

Really hope we get some sort of an LP pass on the wargear, specifically the iron halos. Right now I've unlocked 3 of the class-specific iron halos and they're so freaking expensive that with some of them you can't even get a decent set of armor with it. The only class I have that uses his class-specific one is my vet-tac. The veteran ground assault's class-specific iron halo costs something like 700 LP by itself. At that point you either upgrade your sword OR your power armor, not both. So your veteran either is running around with crap armor or a crap sword.

I don't even mind if they nerf the halos' stats. I'd just like to be able to use something that I put so much time into leveling to unlock. Sorry for the rant.

Yeah the class specific halos are way too expensive, have to use the +70 armor one. Eldar burning rune lp costs are worser.
Two things would like to see get done are Strong Seal of Forging get reduced to 200lp from 210lp (such an dick move that extra 10lp) and Seal of Medicae corrected to give +15hp instead +16.

  7. Devastator is the only one that is outright desirable imo. 160t and a good block of armour helps ignore flak when you dedicate yourself to setting up and using a heavy bolter. The only other weapon worth giving him might be Vulcan Melta IF you're feeling risky. Everything else is too specialised or with the plasma cannon, you have infinite armour; it's called terrain.

I attempted to replicate a build I witnessed in the wild, might be similar to your sternguard, but it's a far cry from a Tactical Tzeentch Tank. Aside from the vanilla one, they're all awful. Doesn't help we're being bled LP here and there across various armies; rounding up from 5 to 10 is fine, but you pay 4 times the LP cost for the Relic Armour regen delay than the Artificer's, when it should only be double for instance. The 30 armour collar for Tactical Traitor is also 10lp more than it should be.

Hey, I'm not going to complain about cheaper options.

Lol, I just had the half-joking thought. People have really wanted more weapons/gear to use in their respective factions. If the LP costs were dropped enough for people to actually use more of the weapons/gear that exist it would almost feel like a sudden influx of content.

  10. That happened with the MC/ unique adjustments. I can now field an ork riot shield and actually survive first contact, it's amazing. Still, it is a bit silly they've gone to the trouble of adding all these art assets and databases, if we're not going to scratch the surface of them. Wasted effort and energy is ill afforded ever, but especially now with their 10+- dudes.
