  1. I know that Chaos mutation, posession and corruption happens to the Chaos Space Marines but I was wondering if you guys at Behaviour were considering implementing this, possibly in the character creation. If you were I was just wondering how you were going about implementing that and if not,I hope that maybe it could be implemented as a feature,to add depth and reference to the actual 40k universe as well as allowing us Chaos players to pick an choose mutations for more of a gameplay and combat variety.Just a suggestion, any opinions would be great to hear, official or non official.Thanks.

  2. You can vote yay or nay to the idea.Either one is your opinion and I don't want to influence it.
  3. There's a section of the forums that says Talk to the dev team
Go and post it over there and you would get a response from them :p
  4. moved it to the game and level design section ;)

i think there will be both
some mutations which will have effect on gameplay in some way
and just cosmetic mutations from the shop

I seem to remember a Michael Chan post saying he was working on making mutated parts for Chaos marines I just cannot remember which thread it was in

I think it would be an interesting venture, the questions are though, A: Are these mutations solely cosmetic? and B: If not how will they affect class balancing? The big thing you have to worry about with mutations is that they are not class restricted, or at least I doubt they will be if implemented. Because of this fact, possible combinations of mutations and a certain class may render other classes inept and useless in comparison a strong class that is increased even more. That first class may have been just a little bit underpowered than the second, but it is so negligible that people will still play the first class. Having a mutation that renders what the first class is designed to do useless by giving the second class a mutation that does a reduced version of what the first class' mechanic was designed to do will make for bad balancing. While as Miguel has stated, "War is not fair or balanced, it's war." we want to give incentive for people to try different classes, not just one that is made extremely strong by having the correct combination of mutations.

They went about mutations and they are indeed going to be in, they will also be earned on the battlefield not in the character creation screen.

    Q) My Question: On the Chaos side of things, do you have any plans as to how mutations and gifts might work (if there are in the game at all?). Will there be a class that specifically uses mutations as a mechanic, ala Marauder from WAR or would it be more suited as a progression reward for CSM players.
    Thanks!
    A) Brent: Yes, we have plans for mutations and gifts, and these will likely be earned on the battlefield. They'll be available to all Chaos classes

just wondering is it wrong for a tau to be very interested in chaos gift's and mutations?
  9. Joram Joram Well-Known Member

Not at the character creation, it will be part of the character progression.

Dunno if is right or wrong TauKoro, but I know that is pointless, Tau don't have presence in the warp :p

they do have a warp signature its just very very very minuscule not even the best psykers can make any use of it and i know the chances of any chaos affecting them is like in Warhammer 40k: Fire Warrior a 0.00000000000000000000001 chance
