Multi Melta replacing Storm Bolter

  1. Again, things aren't quite what you'd make them out to be.





    Let me guess, they sucked, lag, all my opponents in all my videos have bad connections, right? Or just an isolated incident.... I could go on with videos for days showing similar outcomes while playing a Devastator.

    I'd by no means suggest the Devastator/Havoc has better than a 25% chance of success versus a melee opponent once they get in Melee range, but then again should they? Are you seriously suggesting a Dev/Havoc versus a melee class should have a 50/50 chance versus melee once the melee opponent has arrived in melee range?

    If a melee opponent gets past my guns on any ranged class I play, most likely they're going to win and I'm going to die. I accept that fact because I dont' expect them to have a chance at 20 meters, 30 meters, 50 meters with their Bolt pistol versus my Bolter or Heavy Bolter. If they had a 50/50 chance with that Bolt Pistol at those ranges versus my Bolter, Heavy Bolter... well, you get the picture.


    When I played ranged classes, I expect to die more often vs melee classes and to win more often versus ranged opponents. If I want to win more often versus melee classes, I roll a melee class. I know I'm going to die often from ranged opponents I never even see or get close enough to to attack, but I also know I'm going to lose a bit less versus melee opponents.

    Yerrp - same reason why people think melee is 'OP'. The high point in refinery for example...I never do as well as melee because its one of the few points that is more open. An organised squad of devs and tacs could lock that down pretty well.

    The many other small room points melee should rule. They just need more variety between the points.

    Did I say multimelta in my post at all? Thank you for pointing out a 40 meter beam is effective near close range though I never would have guessed. It was a comment on how even trying to play the melee minigame is horribly fucked when dodging around behind someones defense bash is up can still be pulled off quite often as a slow class. But what would I know about melee at all.

    Well that is MM devastator/havoc which at the current patch isnt the same thing as a lascannon or Hbolter devastator.

  5. Lascannon and Hbolter can carry Krak Grenades, can they not?

    Heavy Bolter accuracy has been admittedly broken for months. The Lascannon does what it's supposed to do and does it exceptionally well, what's the problem with the Lascannon?

    the MM is the momoent toal op. Top DPS and Range nearly like the Spells.
    The team did a nice job with the Meelesysem. Hoppe thay so allso an range Wappons now so we got a nice Balacing. I agree that the MM is a Powerfullwappon and it must hawe a top DPS, but it shod haw a range of max 10m with that kaind of firepower. I may be mistaken with me openjen, but wenn i be killend 12 times and only 4 where not a mm-Devastor. I begin to think and tray some thinks out. But as Sorcerer i can not mash vs the MM. If he spots me i´m killed. So simpel is it. If i can get him from his back he is cut in pices. As Apotecary i need the Max Range of my Bolther not to be burnent to ashes in 2 seks.
    So I thing the wappon need realy a nerf. As i said i may be mistaken but i hope your matrix will show you like allwasy the big rigth way.

    You don't have many places where you can use it, it's a totally niche weapon, Harkus is the best for it...and that's it.

    1/4th the current range is way too small, I would venture that 30 or 25 with a slowdown related to your range on application making it scale faster the closer you get. That way you can adapt to seeing a melta and back off unless you didn't spot them and are near them unaware.

  9. Is the simple solution just backloading its damage? Requires you to hold on target for a longer period until the damage starts to jump up sharply?

    With server lag, that honestly wouldn't make much difference in the actual effect.
