Seriously, maybe vehicles with people on top of them should ride with lowered speed, if they choose to exceed it, people who mounted this vehicle are dropped down and, possibly, damaged.

    NO DON'T DO IT!!!
I'm in the minority of the NO vote so im gonna explain myself. I understand the importance of vehicles to the 40k universe (paint it red and what not) but coming from someone who has played numerous mmos rpgs and pvps mounts can ruin the "war" like immersion that I think you are shooting for in this game. Mounts promote ADD strategy like (pls dont hurt me) zurging, blinding rushing objectives, and fighting on the road.

You know that Warhammer is as much about strategy as it is about killing things!

The closest thing I have ever come to seeing as War Simulation in mmorpg pvp match was Alterac Valley in WoW. For those that don't know these pvp matches could last for days! Weeks even! Supplies and objectives were hard to get and important to maintain. It was great! Mounts have made what was once a great battleground a footrace of really just boss grinding.

I'm not saying that this is what is going to happen and I'm sure mounts could be brought into the game effectively (there are already great suggestions) but I just want to express my concern and my overall disapproval of mounts. And don't even get me started on flying mounts. ugh!

He's not talking about mounts as in horses. He's talking about hitchiking.

I remember in Battlefield 2 it was possible to jump on top of tanks if you approached them from the right angle, or had a nearby ledge to jump off of. The physics would get a little wonky when you did that because your boots apparently don't have much traction in that game, but tanks moved slowly and smoothly enough (usually) that you could compensate for sliding with your movement keys.

Of course, now and then your model would clip into the turret, which would trigger the roadkill detection and gib you.

One time in Project Reality someone walked into the back of a Chinook and didn't manage to get a seat before we took off.

We made it about halfway across the map 'fore his traction did give out,
His feet did clip right through the floor, he gave an awful shout,
He dropped his kit right on the spot, his corpse flew out the door,
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

I don't want mounts, I'd rather the vehicles operate like Battlefield or Planetside.

Oops srry for the mistake. Hitchhiking sounds cool, ive never really seen it done intentionally before though. Cool story, only in battlefield right? haha
