Here's the code of conduct on the forum help page; Posts and comments falling under the following categories will systematically be deleted by the community manager: Offensive, hateful, threatening, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, disgraceful and abusive comments including false and unsubstantiated allegations, personal attacks and harassment; Advertisement and commercial messages, direct or disguised, including comments promoting a product, service or other social platform (Facebook page, Twitter account, Pinterest account, Instagram, YouTube and others); Off-topic and repetitive messages Comments with content protected under the laws on intellectual property protection; Pornographic and offensive content or content transgressing the platform’s rules (ex. Facebook rules) Messages containing confidential information such as personal email, address, phone number and other personal information; Comments promoting disobedience and illegal actions or linking to illegal content; Comments violating the laws and regulations of Quebec and Canada or explain how to transgress the laws. Any publication which does not respect the right to confidentiality and authorship, as well as any comment whether offensive, seditious, blasphematory or giving rise to prosecution will be removed. I see offensive, threatening, abusive comments and personal attacks on these fora all the time. I see repetitve, off topic messages in almost every thread. What do you actually do? I've had and seen messages deleted for apparent use of bad language while other posts with language just as foul has been allowed to stay. I've seen you delete random personal attack messages while others are inexplicably allowed to stay. Do you just remove posts that you don't agree with? Do you randomly select posts out of a "batch" that you need to deal with? Do you just do whatever you please and not really care about the opinion of those who actually use the forum to discuss things? I'm sure this thread will be deleted soon enough, though according to the rules above, you have no reason to. Probably because you personally don't like its content.
Well dude, Mods are only human, everyone can be biased, make mistakes or just not notice some things.
I don't get why Asheru is the only mod actually doing moderating (or are those threads with no explanation why it's closed how other mods work?). And where is our community manager, I'd say s*it has hit the fan more times than enough for an actual bE worker to take notice of it. This has to be one of the least moderated forums I'v ever been on, that added to the radio silence of devs excluding Nathans posts and Friday liveshows really does not give a good impression...
If you want some attention here, I'll tag some moderators for you. @Asheru , @Gorilla , @Aka , @Valrak , @Kilrane , @Savij I think that's about it for active moderators and English Moderators though I could be missing some.
I dont know, i maybe haven't experienced it myself or have a high tolerance to bullcrap on forums. Imo these forums have been wonderfully moderated so far, no locking of what could be viewed as controversial threads (ie. criticising the game sometimes perhaps to harshly). I for one have felt the freedom to express myself without threads being locked left and right...so i dunno tbh, im quite fine with this moderation =)
Asheru isn't, although he/she often takes a lot of flak, this thread is not directed at anyone personally. Savij is starting to do some moderation as well as Asheru. My point is that I see a lot of perfectly reasonable posts deleted while other's are left for no apparent reason. I wasn't aware there was a "no swearing" policy since I see it all the time. I agree, the this is one of the least moderated forums I've been on too but when it is moderated it's done so seemingly randomly and with no consistency. E - sorry Valrak I forgot about you!
Actually, Brent, Noah, Christine (at least those I remember) were communicating with players on pretty common basis. It´s not even month after release and they already all spent enough of their free time for this game. Let them breath a little. I think moderators are ok too. Or what do you think they should do? BAN people on daily basis? Or what do you need? Personal attention? I dont get it.
