I have a love/hate relationship with that model, So many people buy in and then turn around to complain because the game is not finished just like they do with betas.
First of all my post was more joke than serious, now about the pre orders and early access business model, there is nothing wrong with pre order or buying a game in alpha but we can't trust most of the companies, we have abuses like Dice with BF4 or Hammerpoint with War Z, but we also have Starbound a lot of initial content and constant updates, we have DayZ with Dean Hall (the creator) telling us on twitter to not buy the game unless we really want to support the development, and if we buy it we can expect constant bugs, crashes and missing features, so i say blame the shitty companies that want to abuse the trust of his fans not the business model. Personally i would buy a alpha access of EC IF it's a stable version (if the next patch has "something" that makes the games crash... well shit happens), but i'm fine if i have to wait untill beta to play it... just need to see some footage in the meantime .
This is really exciting, but I can't help but be cautious. I want Eternal Crusade to be amazing. The whole premise of the game is something I've prayed would happen for many years, but since Miguel had that thread about shoehorning the Cash Shop in to the game I've been keeping my expectations in check. Ever since Apple and Microsoft made Cash Shop integration main-stream I've never seen it done right, and I can't help but think that it doesn't bode well for how the developers will choose to implement content. Never the less, I'm eagerly awaiting to read what MMORPG.com have to divulge to us. Thanks for the heads up!
This is most dreadful. A part of me is glad to have known of this game but... The other is not for that it isnt released for rough-fully next year!
Review?Who said anything about a review? More like a preview, very different things. EDIT: Saw that tweet in OP used review. Its definitely not going to be a review though. Probably just a language barrier issue.
