    IMO its simple:

    - Everyone has a map indicating where they are and where objectives are located
    - Objectives are super-imposed on the screen as they appear in the game i.e. if a command post is a mile away you see a small icon on your HUD to represent that

********I believe there should be a reconnaissance mechanism whereby players can 'mark' enemy units in the field, be they other Ground/Ranged Units.*******

Reconnaissance is massive in the Lore, hence it is a mechanic EC needs to have IMO

Well maybe if they pay the cost of specializing into intelligence gathering instead of having it right off the bat.
  3. Ideally the in game map would have several tools available, where players can place markers showing enemy sighting reports, or spotreps. Players can "mark" their own map, with a footnote(enemy armor, infantry, ect), then "send" their spotrep to their platoon, company, or high command.

Recce units or a player specializing in intel/recce can have more tools available, and they can send they're spotreps faster.
Mekboss Grimcog and CorvusCorax like this.
  4. This is one area that I thought PS2 was lacking, spotreps. I don't know about BF3, but BF2 had a decent spotrep system.

could as allow psykers the ability to determine friend or foe, I mean they are psykers after all. It would also give them another support role for their team, but using this ability should look unsettling. Like warp vision or something like everything looks as if it is rippling with energy shrieking wind only the psyker can hear. Also when the psyker using this ability, it could cause a psyhic phenomena. Like rose petals falling around the area of the psyker, discord wails from the Warp, etc. Because in some respect I view a psyker as a glass-cannon and support, they are glass-cannons because of their power psyhic (magically) abilities but the downside is they can cause psyhic phenomena and if they fail cause a Perils of the Warp result. I could see their powers aiding the team in a variety of ways, could be typical "wizard" role. Being fragile but powerful repertoire of abilities, could be "Diviner" in which he uses his psyhic abilities to try and determine possible enemy movement or if enemies are close by. Well enough of my rabbling, I really enjoy this community. Mostly because everyone talks and share ideas, not many game forums I have seen do that. Most of the time its just trollish behavior.

as long as there isn't any 3D spotting ala BF i'll be somewhat happy. A minimap would actually be kind of nice but no constant tracking, have it show the enemy units LAST KNOWN POSITION upon being spotted and a second later fade away slowly. None of this tracking because he's shooting either.

This is one of those situations where gameplay > lore. Dumbing the game down and giving you a constant feed of where the enemy is indeed very nice but makes the game dull in the long run and strains it of any real challenge or to put any effort into tactical teamwork.

it was just my two-cents, I see it wouldn't be constant it should be short intervals of duration almost sporadic and have a long cooldown to show that it takes alot of the psyker.

When a player is shooting, whatever race it will be, waves will appear on the mini map. The location isn't precise, but you know from which direction it came. In a battlefield, whatever age you are in, you do listen from where the noises come from.

Sounds should have an emphasis. The clings, the bluntness at which the ground was stomped, if someone spotted something, they'd have a voice and would actually speak out therefore giving away their position more or less.

Nullifying a HUD would NOT be fair at all whatsoever mainly for the Orks, fluff wise.
However, I do have to agree with some people that knowing full well whether a player is a foe or a friend is not something that should be given in a silver plate. Work for it. People are lazy and they don't want to work out as a team. If you want to be a Lone Wolf, you'll have to be more skilled than your average Joe.

Accessories allowing you to purposefully track down people, to have a perfect layout of the map and so forth, must be accessories that you have to take the time to use.

"I was using my Signum and I got killed while looking out for enemies!"
Well tough luck, if you knew you were in a hot spot, why did you use it to begin with?

There should however, be a minimal hud for everyone. Though, I will say that Health / Shield / Armor should not be displayed.
If the game turns out to be a Third Person Shooter, the player himself/herself must assess to the damage and act accordingly. You can't possibly know how much life / shield / armor a person has when you're fighting. And I'm pretty sure they don't have that in their own huds. Tau MAY have it, but even then...

Like I said noise sonar by default for people who don't specialize in intelligence gathering.
