Miguel: Our First Date - Base Upgrades No Longer Planned

  1. The mere mention of MAG. (shivers) that game had a lot of potential and flopped massively on nearly every count :/ i really hope this does not end up like MAG.
  2. Wot? I liked MAG, though they fucked up by locking Attack/Defense positions initially. That part won't happen, but the game was fun while it lasted.

  3. The balancing on weapons was horrendous. I played as the R.A.V.E.N guys (Rainbow six looking dudes) and their guns were like peashooters. Stupidly bad compared to the other 2 factions. The huge games had tons of lag issues on a frequent basis. It was a really cool idea, but i feel it flopped horribly. PS2 is much better IMO. EC absolutely cannot have the balancing issues that MAG had or half the player base will just up and quit before it even gets off the ground.
  4. While I am, to some extent, disappointed that we won't see base upgrades at launch, as long as we get it eventually I'll be content. Seriously though, we really do need it at some point.

    Perhaps adding it in post launch will actually be for the best? Hear me out on this: that leaves the devs plenty of time to give the system and its development the time and effort it deserves AND will have the added benefit of "freshening up" or revitalizing combat with more depth. That's not to say that I expect EC to be shallow at launch, but having gameplay that gets deeper and more complex over the lifespan of the game is excellent-- especially for dedicated players who have all but "mastered" the current state of play. Keeps things from getting stale, as it were.

    i didn't say it was a perfect game. but it did have a leadership system that worked, and huge battles.
    i'm thinking you didn't play it, the way you speak of it.


    raven had (by far) the best smg in mag.
  6. Also, SVER didn't have any hip fire accuracy worth a damn, so they did have that over us.

    the problem they never fixed was the explosion radius of the bunkers. you could camp spawn points on both valor and raven, but if you stood anywhere near a SVER bunker you'd get blown to bits.
    seemed like such an easy fix to me.

  9. I wasn't trying to have a go at you Capital_G i was just stating my thoughts is all. RAVEN may have had a good SMG but their rifles and their LMGs were absolutely atrocious. SVER may not have had hipfire but they only needed like 3 to 4 hits for a kill it seemed in most cases anyways, which led to a lot of RAVEN games getting absolutely mowed and losing a ton of tickets before the game was even halfway through lol. I did play the game, I tried for quite a while and just quit after a few months because it just was not enjoyable as RAVEN, as did several of my friends, but anyways, its not around anymore which says a lot. I just really don't want EC to end up like that game is all.

    I would really like to see base management be a part of this game, and hopefully in some capacity we will.

    This is dissapointing i have to admit to that much, i hope this is not the dissapointment train taking its leave now.
