This is a mayor letdown for me because I agree with other comments that it would be too much to add as a new feature later if its design is not contemplated at launch. Depending on the implementation, customization in a base can be just a way to just attach people to their recently conquered base (In GW2 for example fortresses display the banner of your clan and you can upgrade things), better roleplay/immersion to REAL STRATEGIC influence on the war meta - game. (high defenses on a critical place, passive bonus, income, strategic resources / assets (weapons, tanks, npcs...)) that really have synergy with the idea of a war and commanders for every faction. I can´t see the strategic part becoming reality if its not considered at first in the core gameplay: looks, upgrades and polish can come later, core design things I really doubt.

Was anyone watching the live stream of Twitch. Me and a couple had dropped a question about this in the Q&A pre thread, but they didn't address this in the video. Did they say anything in the chat, cause they didn't bring it up in the video.
Yeah they did, I cant remember their exact words, but they said the same thing they told us before, they are not working on base upgrades at the time, but them being implemented at a later time is still a possibility.
They also said they will talk about it on the forum, because it would take whole 15 Minutes to explain it on the stream.
I hope they implement base upgrades as well and I fully agree with the OP. I wonder what they would use as a currency or resource for it though.
