When I bought my HH bolter I was under the assumption that it would not be "better than a Bolter" and not "Weaker than a Bolter" but that it would be "Equal to a Bolter". Meaning that it would simply be a different pattern bolter and nothing else. http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/unique-gameplay-elements.18379/
I am not exactly sure about the Attackbike, but i guess the same rule applys, that also is there for Heroclasses in the Store. And that is, that you will have to unlock the Heros ingame to, through progression, and you can play them as soon as you have unlocked the normal variant. To play devils advocate: Many people say its bad to lock gameplay behind a paywall. One of the Reasons for most people I guess is that you already paid 40$. I think 40$ is pretty cheap nowadays, and other games add expansions, which also give you more Gameplay. The most important reason is probably that diversity is power. Here, one could argue that if only people who buy something, can play a fast attack style (only a example), its no problem as long as the fast attack styly is not more potent than another style in every situation. But what if the situation calls for a fast attack style? Maybe you are in the wrong place then? Btw, I would also want everything to be unlockable through a slow grind. I think this would actually help, make the game more money in the end. Just make sure that you clearly lable the items as cashshop items that you can get through grind, so that no one thinks that they are normal items that were made super grindy so that you buy them.
Planet Side 2, you can earn the different weapons through in game points or you can buy them with $$. That's what I mean when I say "both".
so the info of the dev are ok when someone pre order the game because like the game propotipe and info. but at the same time the same info the same video the same propotipe that convince me to buy the game is not good for discuss argoument about feature and game mechanic?
I'm going to reiterate what I already stated on page 25 as some of this is hard to follow. Here is a TLDR version. A portion of the community is concerned about "sidegrades" being behind a paywall. Almost everyone is in agreement that: 1: Sidegrades are NOT pay to win 2: Most/all are in favor of sidegrades 3: Exclusive sidegrades behind a paywall, unobtainable in-game however are NOT acceptable. Reasoning: By definition sidegrades are content (whether vehicle/weapons) that are equal in power. They trade one stat for another which confers an advantage in one aspect of combat or another. As certain weapons/vehicles are only obtainable behind a paywall, the unique advantages they convey will be off limits to players who have not breached said pay wall. Again, when I refer to advantage I am not saying "pay to win". Instead I am referring to these weapon's stats that are boosted at an offset of another. Completely made up scenario: Player 1 & 2 are both snipers & 300 yard away from one another. Player 1 has exclusive sniper rifle that allows projectile to travel 300 yards at the offset of magazine size. Player 2 is using one of the other sidegrade sniper rifles. While each of them have superior damage/mag size etc than the exclusive sniper rifle, none of them can fire up to 300 yards. In this scenario both snipers are combating one another. In order for sniper #2 to engage sniper #1 however, he/she must close some distance before he/she has any sniper capable of hitting sniper #1 allowing sniper #1 several free shots beforehand. Because sniper #2 did not pony up cash beforehand, there is no way he/she could have impacted the outcome any differently. Is this P2W? In truth it doesn't really matter. What does matter is how this will be perceived by the vast majority of players, casual gamers, gaming critics, gaming journalists. I can tell you right now without a doubt that it will be a heated discussion. I mean we are up to page 28 just within our own community. I think it would be great if the developers could get involved & end this discussion once & for all. Its obviously something the community has interest in & is concerned about. Keep things as is - Sidegrade weapons hidden behind a paywall remain. Controversial debate will rage on for the rest of the games life. Will be the focal point of many critics/gaming "journalism". Playerbase divided. Change everything to cosmetic only - End of debate. Everyone on even playing field. "Pay to be cool" will actually be factual. Focal point of critics/gaming "journalism" will be on gameplay instead of controversial cash shop items.
Hopefully we will get some kind of response from Devs before we reach page 100. At 1st I thought they made some kind of mistake when Miguel explained side-grade system by using bike-rhino example but now I`m almost 100% positive that they thought that this kind of cash shop will go through with EC community. I hope Dev absence in this active thread is result of them trying to come up with new cash shop system before they say anything.
In another interview for GoHa.ru Miguel confirmed that leaders will be able to draw on the map (battle strategies made entirely out of dick scribbles confirmed!) and that the first module comes out "before it snows in Michigan". Let's all take a break and talk about that.
