What would Tyranids have available for shapeshifting into?

I'm guessing warrior brood or gene stealers

Considering anything smaller then like gaunts, gargoyles would be too weak/cannon fodder

And anything bigger then that like Carnifex, Trygons. Would be too out of the question.
