Oh god I'm so hyped up, and so scared you will let us down. I hardly expect it just... by the throne don't sacrifice sticking to the lore for balance!
Oh, you bet! No getting away from us now =) But, in all seriousness we will watch the team's progress as you go with bated breath. Thank you so much for your openness, it's much more important for us than reading and listening bland thread-bare phrases of marketing departments (with all respect of what they do) and such. Wish you a bunch of inspiriational creativity and good luck! If there's anything our community can help you with - let us know We are counting on you guys Thank you Into the fires of battle! Unto the anvils of war!
It is good to see that there is so much interaction between the team and the community. Keep up the good work!
@OP: Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'd like to advise you to be somewhat cautious: You may have heared about the horror that was 'The War Z'(now renamed infestation: survivor stories) launch. They started six months ahead of planned gamerelease with a forum, feeding lots of info etc which they didnt live up to at all. In fact, the forum was full of demanding would be customers that created it's own dynamic: the Devs felt pressured (they also chose to take a new non marketing approach) and decided to go for a paid alpha release. The ****fest that followed was impressive and they ended up to be one of the few, if not the only game ever to get pulled from Steam. The direct approach to your fanbase is all nice in theory, but the reality is that a big chunk of the online denizens are underaged crybabies who mistake the Dev's attention for the right to make demands about what options should be implemented into the game etc. You might want to be a bit carefull with this approach, the launch or even closed beta is still far away, and feeding bits of information at this point maybe isnt the best strategy, people will start to get bored with waiting, the same topics and ideas will be posted over and over again in the year and a half/two years to come. Again, I am writing this with the best of intentions.
Primarch David has spoken, Emperor's Children, Thousand Sons, World Eater incoming. ( Death Guard too I am sure, he just forgot )
When you said E-sport I though on Smite. Not been a fan of M.O.B.A.s Smite quite had me, a third person game that quite well could be an e-sport. Mix Smite and EC and we get pure epicness. Now, been a player who enjoy stuff like Minecraft and how it evolved from Alpha when there was barely a few recipes, no sound and crushed all the time I quite understand in which stage EC is at this point. Hopefully most of the community gets this right. Keep the awesome game and thanks again for been so honest with us, ur fans.
Just the fact that you guys are confident enough in your game to have such an open aproach to marketing is comforting.
It is refreshing to see the amount of communication this game already has, keep it up. I'm use to vary little in the way of interaction between the community an the developers, especially in alpha/closed beta. (Been in to many to count.) I look forward to seeing what is coming next.
