Given the fact that most of the Battle Brothers, Host Brothers...have been mentioning Planetside 2, I decided to give it a try and see what's all this about... Well, once I tried out a "MAX" unit, a Wh40k Terminator lore kicked in immediately. You are a walking power-suit, slow and bulky, superb firepower and a sight to see upon the field of battle! Then I went for a "Heavy Assault class" and started working my way around in heavy weapons duty. Litanies of Devastator any1? Yes you are correct. This class is parallel with the Devastator Astrates and so on... A massive action map is what I'm looking forward to in Eternal Crusade, also I gotta mention the graphics in 2015 is going to be even better than any current MMO out there. Overall my fellow Battle Brothers, this small insight finally put my worries to rest 100%. E.C. is going to be awesome, putting the MASSIVE "M" into the MMO equation. If a Force Commander summons Drop Pod reinforcements into the thick of battle with all destruction and mayhem going on, while the opposing commander counters it by calling in an orbital bombardment from the fleet, then by all means in that very moment one would just get on their knees and stare in the face of oblivion in awe as the true face of war unravels in all its glory/horror and utter the following: "There is only war.".
Well said Dread! I really hope the game will capture that feel. The feeling of being completely enveloped in bodies, bodies shouting firing and running everywhere. Blood splattering into the air, explosions every 3 seconds, the sound of guns, swords and battle cries absoloutely punishing speakers. Look straight ahead and see a 10 blood angels death company smash down on to a band of orks. Look to the right and see a chaos predator erupt in flame. To the left and see an ork warboss behead a chaplain. Face behind you and see a horde of tyranids swarming upon the armies, already becoming under fire from orbital bombardments and predator missiles. Pull the 'there is only war' feel off which I have complete faith they will, I believe EC can be THE war game everyone should play. Truly epic war.
