I'm not into warhammer but what you guys are doing sounds amazing, potentially going to revolutionise gaming as we know it! If this game turns out how your describing it, it will be the game of the year, decade and even possibly one of the best ever created! Keep up the good work team so excited to see how this turns out
This is great, great design decision. I can't wait. Ah well, another suggestion, it would be cool if, a race, by the combination of resources coming from several guilds/chapters/craftworld (whatever) could invoke an unique npc like a chaos god, kaela/cegorach/etc, a primarch, etc. The idea is that it has to be a hard joint effort, and an exceptional situation that's you cannot witness that often. The only goal of this NPC would be to cause (by joining the battlefield), wreckage of opponents (of any kind) or provide superior support (depending on the nature of the deity), for instant Grandpop Nurgles would cause all kind of DoT and reduce health regen, reduce attack speed and stuff, while Isha (yeah yeah, the fluff, I know, but this is a game) would due this opposite, Healing Over Time, increase ailment recovery, etc. With respect to Kaela and Khorne, you get the picture . At the appearance of the deity, the whole race would be alerted (with a cool cinematic, I mean, why not) and you would get a kind of aura (if you have played Dawn of War, at the appearance of the avatar of Khaine, you know what it is) Peace PS: If this feature gets implemented, please invite me to the alpha testing
this is a game so lets start summoning chaos gods and maybe the emperor himself. and again, this is not just a game, please understand that for many people out there this is the game theyve been waiting for years.
Honestly, I think that kind of curbstomp mechanic is a bad idea in the first place. But if for some reason you did want it, there are far more believable things that could be called forth. For example, a greater Daemon (Bloodthirster, Great Unclean One, Keeper of Secrets, Lord of Change) rather than a Chaos God. A super-heavy tank. A Titan. But I'd rather not have my gameplay interrupted by random cutscenes and map-wide instagibs.
Well actually greater daemons/Avatar would fit better to the lore indeed. And cutscenes would appear just the first time (it is just a common practice), then a simple announcement/aura would be enough. Peace
The leap of faith you've taken in deviating from customary video game marketing endears the Developers to many grateful WH40k lovers like myself. The openness to show pre alpha, or prototype, footage is appreciated (especially the execution footage!). I love the direction Eternal Crusade has taken and I sincerely hope this game plays well enough to entice a wide array of gamers past the niche that is Warhammer.
