Melta Gunz

The melta should fit to form like every other weapon, bolters and shooters don't do damage to vehicles, meltas should have a reason for you to not choose them as an infantry weapon. In the tabletop if you want handheld infantry melters you get Plasma and Missile launchers.

I have extensively tested Melta weapons and can confirm that their damage does still ramp up.

As to whether it ramps up more quickly than it used to... perhaps, yes.

Though to be fair, I do believe Fusion Guns absolutely annihilate infantry on tabletop too. Not sure about Melta Guns, but they probably do.

I think a relatively simple fix would be to reduce the effective range of the weapons, then bring the Multimeltas down to the same heat rate increase as the other weapons, but out to a longer range.

If a Melta Gun would only cause any damage at all up to, say, 8 metres, and maybe 14 for a Multimelta, then you could pretty easily kite them with another class and avoid the damage, particularly if the user slowed down dramatically whilst firing.

Yes but what I and the others here, in their own way, are trying to tell you is that you are wrong.

Where does this *'big hitbox'-argument come from?
Everyone should be able to keep a melta-beam on target, whether it be an Eldar or Ork.
The point is: whatever damage I can deal to you with a melta, I can deal with a ASC. Only without windup, on a greater distance and faster.
The only downside is the visual noise, which is annoying but not debilitating.

As for Orks in general...I can think quite a few things to accuse 'certain people' of but favoritism is not one of them.
Thats your bias. If anything, they have a problem with Orks because you like them.

    There are three, legit problems:

    -Painboy is too weak.
    -Bad camera placement and movement
    -Broken and unpolished animations.

The first one is balance and the other two can very well be crippling enough to demand some compensation on balance-level.
But none of them changes the fact that Orks are really strong right now
I am not convinced they are actually stronger than Chaos, the healer makes a big difference, but they are certainly stronger than LSM and Eldar.

  6. First of all, site sources when you say TTK times like that. The klaw and any other heavy weapon (Heavy bolter, Plasma launchers and that jazz) intended for anti infantry also have windups, so this isn't really an argument. Neither is limited range, ninety percent of melee weapons in the game are intended for infantry combat already.

If that's your takeaway your mistaken, Melta's aren't AI weapons, and when you equip them it doesn't make sense for them to preform like one, just like you wouldn't load anti-armor shells into a tank to shoot at a squad of infantry. Also, I wasn't asking /you/ I was asking for a change in the weapons stats to reflect this, such as a -50% debuff to infantry damage, though 50% might be steep but that's just off the tip of my head. This isn't exclusive to Marines either, this same standard should be universal in all weapons around the game.

Also, please don't insinuate using banned narcotics to me.

Never had much trouble with melta weapons. If I'm using one myself I have to get the jump on my opponent to win but same can be said of any weapon apart from an avenger shurican catapult. The guy mostly just turns and kills me when I use that piece of shit.
