Melta Bombs - Yes again(and again..and again..)

  1. Atarius Atarius First Blood!

Just looked it up, normal squad: +5pts for meltabombs only for sergeants or veteran sergeants. Command squad: everyone (since they are veterans) can have meltabombs for 5pts/modell. So we both were right in a way.

This would mean for EC: meltabombs only available for Sergeants and Veterans. It gives both another reason to exist and IMO restrictions to ensure team play is a plus for me.

  2. A three to four second placement time would do wonders and bring some 40k "reality" to the experience. One second to stow your weapon, two to three seconds to place and activate the bomb. Seems MORE THAN FAIR considering the reward.

Adding a "believable" deployment time for such heavy ordnance would cut down significantly on those ridiculous suicide bomber runs.

you forgot to mention ork rokkit boyz pretty much do da same fing dese orange twiggy gitz do, and dats rush a vehicle, plant a bomb and den blow it up, not to mention we can't REAALY snipe wif da zoggin fings since its accuracy krumps up out of 10m out, oh and alot of orks really want a damn melta becaus if ya ever used the melta rokkit combo you know you spend alot more time reloading than acutally doing damage...actually now dat i fink about it you take about, all together, some 5 or 7 seconds after the first shot...wot wif realoding and charging again a 50/50 shot at melta range.

now i would mention that rokkit boyz are rather rapidly switching off from supa bombs and grabbing stikky stikkbomb bundles, as it's been found out that even tho ork grenades have an incredibally smaller AOE than LSM standards (and even weaker frag nades with this same small aoe nd wonky throwing physics) we do get the best kraks ingame...two of them will do 60% of a rhinos HP from rear side damage....and funny enuf i don't like dat, yes i agree dat kraks uv all kinds shud be usefull in alot of situtations...but mine shouldn't be better than taking a supa bomb!

No no no! All you are doing is attacking FD's not even meltabombs in general!

BE needs to add in several new mechanics to promote exp gain for protecting vehicles. Players standing ourside their squads rhino/trukk/wave need to be awarded exp just like point defenders are. The problem is the MAPS and game system do not reward anyone for protecting their APCs and tanks.

Fire Dragons running 2 meltas are exclusively kamikaze dragons, I always run Fugans with 1, because its better in long term damage and against infantry. Our only other option for AV are dark reapers. FD's aren't tacts and cannot cap as well. Like Lerdoc said, you have grav weapons and plenty of ways to actually protect your vehicles instead of whining about double meltabombs.

I can agree with a set up time, but nothing else. Park your vehicles further out and actually protect them is my main answer.

oh sorry bout that...just get to see alot of people in forum that think rokkit is OP without thinking it may have been luck or he was out of position

Anybody who says Eldar melta bombs aren't broken is delusional. One Fire Dragon in a vehicle can shut down an entire team's transports.

Speaking of delusional, one melta tac with bomb in rhino does exactly the same thing to unmanned skimmers.

I'll be fine with Eldar having double melta when hover tanks don't completely (SOMEHOW) stop Rhinos from moving so the Firedragon driving them can hop out and just instantly drop both of their melta's on the roof and run off.
