  1. You think you're confused now?

Just wait till the Orks show up

You won't be able tell what the hells going on

There's more blinding green in that picture than a horde of orc nudists!

It looks like you are being blinded by an explosion or a plasma gun, or a ground pound to the dome.

The Screen effects are a love hate thing. You either love them for being "real and immersive" or hate them for being "too over bearing and impeding game play"

    Is this the real life?
    Is it just fantasy?
    Caught in a stun lock,
    no escape from reality!
    Open your eyes,
look to the skies and see!
I'm just a tactical, I need no sympathy.
Because I'm easy come, easy go!
Any way the grenade goes, doesn't really matter, to me,
    To me,

Emperor, I just killed a man,
Put a bolter against his head,
Pulled the trigger, now he's dead,
    Emperor, Exterminatus had just begun,
But now I've gone and blown it all away!

    Emperor, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters!

Too late, their time has come,
    Sent shivers down my spine,
    Bodies burning all the time.
Goodbye everybody, you've got to go!
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth!

Emperor! (Any way the grenade goes)
    I don't want to kill,
I sometimes I wish I'd never been born at all!

    I see a silhouette of a man,
Scaramouche, scaramouche, can you do the
    Fandango!
    Thunderbolts and lightning,
    Very, very frightening me.
    (Guilliman) Guilliman,
    (Guilliman) Guilliman,
    Guilliman Roboute,
    Magnifico!

Bismillah! No we will not let them go - let them go
Bismillah! We will not let them go - let them go
Bismillah! We will not let them go - let themgo
Will not let them go - let them go (never)
Never let them go - let them go
    Never let them go, ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let them go
Khorne has a devil put aside for me
    For me
    For me

So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye,
So you think you can shoot me and leave me to die?!
Oh baby can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out just gotta get right outta here

    Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
    Nothing really matters
    Anyone can see
Nothing really matters nothing really matters to me

    Anyway the the grenade goes.
  7. Holy shit, ab dis immortalibus acrius imperator hoc est mirabile! Just how many other people heard this in their heads being sung by Freddie Mercury?

I'll try to explain based on my guesses about what's happening.

You've noticed when you both attack together, you and your opponent's attacks "clang" off eachother. When you do this, it consumes some stamina from your stamina bar. When you run out of stamina, the "clang" causes you to become stunned and stagger backwards instead.

Different weapons cause you to lose different amount of stamina when you "clang". The power axe consumes the most of your stamina when you try to clang against it.... and yes, this means that when you try to melee someone with a more stamina-consuming weapon than yours, you're committing to run out of stamina first and lose.

If you roll excessively before a melee fight (which you're often forced to against a slam spamming assault who knows what he's doing) you will likely have 0 stamina by the time you come to melee, meaning you will be stunned immediately upon trying to clang with your enemy.

The stagger stunlock is really really silly. I don't understand why they haven't broken away from "stunlock crusade" since the last time this was complained about. In any case (I need corroboration with this) I believe this is supposed to happen only when you're out of stamina? Check your stamina bar next time it happens and let me know what you see.

Also, assuming I wasn't just imagining this in my sleep or something, I believe being hit by a defensive bash depletes your stamina. I would need to test it to be sure, but It's kinda hard to test right now.

Surprised nobody mentioned this yet, but the defensive bash stun is bugged somewhat at the moment. Sometimes the stun doesn't register. If everything was working as intended, it would properly stun every time and pretty much guarantee your melee victory.

    Few tips:
    • Don't light attack anything with a stronger weapon than you unless you're behind them.
    • Roll the absolute bare minimum amount you can.
    • If defensive bash bugs, just keep doing it. It's spammable and costs nothing. Most people aren't paying enough attention to notice you're winding up 2 and sometimes even 3 kicks.
    • make sure you stay locked on when using defensive bash. SOME people have learned this trick with assault to evade behind you while you defensive bash. This lets them hit anyone not locked-on in the back (not mentioning any names like Lethal or Penguin. I love you guys). They can also dash out of the defensive bash stun because it does not cost stamina for them to use the jump pack dash.
    • If you land a defensive bash and stagger them, return the favour and stunlock them to death with melee attacks. If you're armed with a storm bolter, feel free to abuse its power at point-blank and shoot them to death while they stagger (this doesn't work against people who are aware of the above mentioned trick of dashing out of stun as assault).
    • Really important one: Rolling and "dashing" (jump packs) grant invulnerability frames. It's a short period during the animation where the roller is immune to all forms of damage. The assaults invulnerability frames are longer than everyone else's. They can make themselves immune to bullets and melee strikes during the dash. This is the primary source of good assault players' success. You can avoid being killed by sticky grenades and all sorts of things if you're good with timing rolls or dashes.
I also believe that if you use the charged-up attack it consumes way more of the enemy's stamina when they clang with you. I've not tested this as a tactical against an assault, but it might be that you can consume more of their stamina in a clang if you heavy attack (not tested). This would make the heavy attack situationally useful when you know you can use it and clang without being hit by a fast attack.
