I don't call that fancy at all. That was my point, to keep as realistic possible for 40k, not some Hollywood bullshit portrayal of over the top fancy bullshit. I think you and i are on the same page, only that we call it something different.
The entire problem is that you are bringing "realistic" into it, and then trying to use experience with modern martial arts as a basic. If you say "Let's make sure it's authentic 40k combat, rather than more Hollywood-inspired." then sure, complete agreement. But "realistic" is the wrong word to use.
Nonsense, the tradition of Flynning is alive and well in the world of 40k, even when the use of chainswords would make it seem unworkable!
Who the hell sends millions of Huge ass Targets in big, shining armors right onto the enemy waves and calls it realistic? Warhammer 40k is everything but realistic here If W40k was realistic, it would be more about politics, stealth missions (space marines will simply be dudes with camoflage) and the biological and mass destructive weapons like the exterminatus would be used much more commonly.
Long story short, W40k would suck, because we wouldn't really go far from the reality. We don't need realism in it. We need fun.
After watching some Lords Of The Fallen gameplay, I've decided that, that is the route to take, nice and tanky.
I'm honestly more concerned that this game will just be filled with dudes in jump packs slashing at each other while there's only the occasional Tactical/Shoota' character hanging around.
