Melee Combat rules

  1. Could be, I had some serious cases yesterday where, for example, I saw myself running along a passage only to suddenly rubberband back and find myself running against a wall which others had assumably seen me doing for good 4-5 seconds.

    Didn't experience anything that bad today (at least as of yet :confused:) but I'd assume it doesn't take that much to screw up a melee, yeah.

    Yeah in a react-nau-or-eat-a-dick combat system every milisecond counts :D
  3. I've never experienced a dropped d.bash. There have been times when my bash was delayed due to server lag and I ate a hit or two before it went up. But I've never had a d.bash just stop (at least in these recent patches) after I had tossed it up.

    And the knife needs a serious boost to durability. I think all weapons do with the exception of klaws and fists.

  4. It could've been the lag as mentioned above, but I did begin the animation (as the my marine had his shoulder turned towards the enemy) and then bang - right back to normal standing animation after taking 1 fast attack from the enemy.
    Strangely enough it only kept happening with my Tactical too now that I think about it.. when I was rolling as a Devastator or the few times I went melee, Dbash worked fine.

    Looks like your enemy depleted your knife durability with his fast attack. Yep, it's stupid and needs fixing.

    This rock paper scissors system doesnt work like you claim it does. At least not on live servers. Defensive bash stun thingy does not counter light attack and in fact gets interrupted by light attack. Not with a clang, the animation just stops and no stun ever goes off.

    Most of the time I jump a person and wind up a heavy attack it clangs off of a (tactical equivalent class) knife and I instantly take a return light attack PLUS a stun. Instantaneously.

    Furthermore, Orks seem to have stun resistance of a kind because Ive yet to successfully d-bash one and have it stun him or interrupt a damn thing. Orks also do not seem to get stunned by jump pack attacking them like other races do, as Ive failed to ever see that happen either (even when landing in a group of 4 orks) Further compounding the Ork problem is that they have like 3 weapon with damage over time that is way over the top in terms of game balance.

    I consistently get lit on fire and poised for HALF of the meter by clanging off of users with relevant weapons.

    None of these things are game lag related as I never have a ms rating of above 45. The system is just broken.

    Dodge is useless most of time, cause timing, distance, speed

    ,Dbash is deathly because broken weapon and stability rules

    Lag & rock paper scissors theory causes aleatory results.

    And ofc being 1 or 2 hit dead...

    There is so much counters for ranged players.

    There is So much rules for a 2 secs fight.

    Not sure why we're calling dodge useless....it literally prevents all damage while you're rolling. You can roll into a vehicle and as long as it passes over you before you stand completely back up, you will take no damage and survive being flattened. Same with grenades, it can blow up at your feet, but as long as you have the crucial roll going, you will take no damage. Rolling is OP.

    What IS a bit f'ed is how weapons determine the amount of time your d. bash stuns someone. Last I checked, the melee weap I carry doesn't really affect how hard I can kick/headbutt someone. Should be a set time they are stunned for ALL weapons, and not increase with a better weapon. Or, use the weapon to bash, not your feet/head.

    If the weapon isn't being used to hit them, it shouldn't be used to calculate the duration of stun. Using a combat knife, I can't even d. bash stun someone long enough to get a counter light attack off.

    Did somone notice that last patch killed the melee buffs? For example, the horn rune was 15% damage for melee atacks and the same thing at eldars. Now it gives 6% attacks bonus. No, it should give you a bonus but it does not. When i've tried different combinations of different weapons with different trinckets, i've noticed that there is no difference between melee damage with 6% bonus flag and without it.
    And can somebody explain, how does it happen? I mean my enemies often kills me by 2 quck strikes by the power sword, being in front of me. And some times, when i hit somebody from behid, like backstab, i hit them by STRONG attack and the don't die after 2 heavy attacks from behind! This happens with power mace, power axe and power sword. And I'm deffinetly shure, they were not champions. Can somebody explain me what i am doing wrong? Why sometimes enemies can kill me from 2 strickes with full HP and armor being and front of me and why enemies not always dies from HEVY attack from behind?
