Trying to get confirmation on the following melee concepts. If I have these wrong, please let me know as it was my understanding that the current concept for melee was a type of rock, scissor, paper but there seem to be several different maneuvers. Fast Attack (right-click) Fast Attack counters Heavy Attack Heavy Attack (hold right-click) Heavy Attack counters Guard Guard (hold Ctrl while targeting enemy) Guard counters Fast Attack Defensive Bash (When in Lock-on press melee attack while moving backwards) Which one of the above "Attacks" is this specifically supposed to counter (all)? Kick ?? (noticed a type of Power Kick that if I hold both left & right mouse down simultaneously it does a type of "charged up" kick) Which one of the above is this specifically supposed to counter? I also watched a Dev stream in which it was mentioned that when two players are in melee that as they come to blows it is using their stamina, but at that point one of them loses all stamina that get stunned. Furthermore, that the more "powerful" the melee item the more stamina it drained? I got the impression that would mean the following if using melee when in comes to a contest of stamina loss/drain on the opponent. Axe > Sword > Chain > Combat Knife If I have this wrong, please let me know. Thanks, Deca
Fast Attack (right-click) Fast Attack counters Heavy Attack Heavy Attack (hold right-click) Heavy Attack counters Defensive Bash Defensive Bash (While in Lock-On press both left & right mouse buttons simultaneously) Counters Fast Attack I'm no expert, so my knowledge might be wrong, but this is how I remember it. There is no Guard (at least I never managed to simple hold my weapon in front of me) and the Kick is part of the Defensive Bash.
You got it. Guard used to exist in a previous build but was replaced by the kick. Everyone still calls it the bash but the animation is a kick. There is also a shoulder barge that Tacs can use as an opening gambit if sprinting by right clicking but your mileage may vary on how effective this actually is.
I appreciate the clarification. Any ideas on the accuracy of when using melee & when in comes to a contest of stamina loss/drain on the opponent (with both opponents having the same amount of Stamina when melee combat started) Axe > Sword > Chain > Combat Knife In other words, the guy swinging the Axe would win over an opponent swinging a Sword even if they both had the same stamina as well as if they were both using fast attacks only.
I need my chain axe for SM and CSM already... I WANT IT SO FUCKING MUCH. A giant, roaring and smoking motherfucking CHAIN AXE. Just listen to this! At 2.22. View: https://youtu.be/AOpmjgocID8?t=2m22s
