Why? Even if my Ork or Eldar attacks faster than your SM, you can still clang. It's not an issue. As to the OP; I agree with Dreadspectre, I find the melee works well at the moment. Yes there are some long recovery times on certain attacks, but we already have people complaining that; "EC isn't a shooter it's a melee brawler game lolz" and I think this would only add fuel to that fire. Let people figure out how to melee as a mobile ranged class then we can talk about making it faster/more efficient.
How are you going to have the .25 seconds to recognize the animation to respond with the counter if we make it any faster than it already is? Power Swords are already hard to react to, especially on JPA's. People like Shoulder have no issues flowing from a Jetpack dash into a Power into a Light. There has to be SOME time for reactions...otherwise we lose the ability to counter and it just becomes a "get lucky with your 66% chance to clang/counter, 33% chance to counter" dumb luck game.
hold on im going to give you the benefit of the doubt and just ask to clarify, do you really believe what you have typed in the first half of your post ?
Please, nothing else to speed up melee and give tacticals even less time to shoot a melee player. Melee is already insanely fast when gap closing on tacticals, particularly with the low damage of tactical class weapons
View: https://youtu.be/4nVObJhbFqE Eldar actually have less of a recovery time following power attacks then marines do as this video shows. Additionally, I think the recovery times are fine and reduce(to a certain extent) spamming one attack to victory. If anything given the prevalence of certain attack types in melee, specifically power attacks, the recovery time could honestly be increased or at least tinkered with in conjunction to other mechanics.
He's probably accusing you of saying "melee is underpowered and needs to be stronger", in a forum where the general consensus is the exact opposite. Don't worry, I didn't get that vibe from your original post; as far as I can tell you're saying "melee combat is sticky and awkward, damage and time-to-kill notwithstanding"
yes, lets also see sprint attack, (as well as warlock attack speeds, though banshees seem the number 1 offender) Melee is a little awkward, it's true. You'll love it or hate it, it's definitely not fluid, but it's powerful and purposeful. It mixes reaction in with thinking and strategy. It's a little hard to do it well, despite how many complain about it. I like it.
Well let's put it like this; "if I can clang with my Power Klaw wielding Ork against your knife/sword/power sword using Marine or if you want to go crazy, against a Banshee who is considered to have the fastest of attack speeds, then yes the same will be true in reverse." You get me dude? I'm using literally the slowest melee weapon in the game and I CLANG FOR DAYS.
Your argument is completely invalid, you claiming you can clang using a claw against Some players without Any evidence was completely unworthy to read, not only should I not have given you a chance to explain, but you should not have even responded to further point out what an idiot you are Nothing says Banshees have 'fastest' attack speeds either once upon a time, MoK troops had the 'most' and therefor 'fastest' attacks. You can argue about Initiative but trying to balance around these concepts doesn't really work Who strikes faster, a banshee who hits twice first or a PF champion whose hits are calculated last but hits 6 times It doesn't work and it isn't good for the game Some concepts and even the higher moments of combat in this game, like fighting for a capture point, may escape you, may be out of both your realms of comprehension and experience, but the game isn't simply played by facing down 1 on 1 and dueling, maybe your claw can clang a banshees power attack spam (i doubt you can) but that is not how good players play, it's very possible to outduel someone no matter the setup, it doesn't change Anything about certain moves being Factually mispowered
