some documentation about the master of the relic: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB...F461C5BF854573A0AC1B581077?_requestid=2574420 http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Master_of_Relics#.U7KoHfl_uWU So the master of the relic is one of the 10 space marine captain. A chapter can have only 10 captain. and only one is the master of the relics. we know that the game must have some artistic license: space marine that respawn.. apotecary as a base class.. unlimited number of terminators.. etc etc etc... it's ok gameplay need to stretch the lore a bit.. i think that's acceptable. (because unless we have squad of 10 apotecary it's ok, because it's hard to see an entire faction spawn 1000 terminator elite at the same time etc etc) but in the case of the master of the relics? there is only one per chapter.. and in many case they have a precise name and lore behind them. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Sinon#.U7KqsPl_uWU http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Sendroth it's like if EC will give an hero called "chapter master". there is only one chapter master and have a certain name and identity and it's totally lore breaking to see 2-3 utramarine "chapter master" on the field. i don't think that is planned to limit the spawn of this hero to one of the entire game population an acceptable solution can be an hero called a generic "captain" because at least can exist 10 space marine captain for each chapter and will become hard to se 40 of a costly and powerful hero on the same battlefield (can happen yes but i suppose is really rare)
I think that they could have done better personally but who knows...maybe it will turn out well...but i dont get my hopes up for lore-conflicts because one way or the other everyone loses...
Crap lol I thought you were talking about a hypothetical class, but that is an actual class on the Founders store ! Yes I say get rid of it NOW! Or just re-name it to something like 'Weapons Specialist'.
That ranking sounds a bit ambiguous and may conflict with actual Squad captains, depending on the terminology they use. I prefer the term specialist since it seems to align better with the role itself.
When will people realise this is a game and not a wh40k alternate reality simulator. It was never going to be 100% lore accurate. You're actively isolating any non warhammer fans who might be interested in the game by saying stupid shit like "There should a name generator, because everything needs to be 100% accurate or we shouldn't allow our players the freedom of choosing their own name." etc This rampant attitude to the game is actually putting me off.
Yeah it doesn't sound amazing...maybe just replace him with a Captain who can be customized to be either a meele or ranged captain?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to file this under acceptable losses. If we already have more than 1000 marines per chapter as well as respawning then multiple Masters of Relics is on the exact same level of anti-immersion. Really this is more of a question on the broader scale of where we should be drawing the line of acceptable inaccuracies to the lore.
