Balance in this game is broken. I have rank 3+ on all races. Base level 1 HP on all races - starting HP and Armor. Elder HP - 200 Elder Armor - 100 + Movement Speed +Smaller Hit Boxes -Generally lower toughness Space Marine HP - 200 Space Marine Armor - 100 Chaos Marine HP - 200 Chaos Marine Armor - 100 Ork - 250 Ork Armor - 100 +Generally higher toughness Why in the hell does the Eldar have the same HP as a Tactical/Chaos Marine? I get the Ork + 50, but really? Everyone else has the same HP?Armor? Lets just check some basics: Eldar Drive Avenger Range Weapon: Dmg: 20 Pen: 80 Fire Rate: 750 RPM Spread: 2 Recoil: 0.15 Tactical Marine Range Weapon: Dmg: 38 Pen: 80 Fire Rate: 333.3 Spread: 2 Recoil: .22 Just off the bat the Dire Avenger (DA) is better than the Tactical Marine. Faster, Smaller, with the same HP and armor and a better gun. How long does it take a DR to kill a tactical? Assuming all bullets hit. 750 Rounds Per Min / 60 seconds = 12.5 bullets per second 12.5 bullets * 20 Dmg = 250 dmg So each second the DA can put out 250 dmg - so we only need another 50 dmg to kill the Tactical Marine. 50 Dmg would take three more bullets or 1/4 of a second. Tactical marine is dead from a DA in 1.25 seconds if all bullets hit. How long does it take for a Tactical Marine to kill a Dire Avenger? Assuming all bullets hit. 333.3 Rounds per Min / 60 seconds = 5.5 bullets per second 5.5 bullets * 38 Dmg = 209 dmg So each second the Tactical Marine puts out 209 damage - we need another 100 damage (remember the DA only needed another 50 at this point) to kill the DA. Another 100 damage would require another 1/2 second. Dire Avenger is dead from a Tactical Marine in 1.5 seconds if all bullets hit. Not only does this explicitly show balance issues, the Dire Avenger is smaller (harder to hit), faster and has less recoil. I would trade 20 "Toughness" for that advantage any day. So would any other player..... It's not like melee is balanced to a point where 20 "toughness" would make a hill of beans difference anyway. All Eldar need to have their HP dropped by 50. This blatant imbalance in fraction design is upsetting. Not to mention the OVER POWERED (I don't use that word lightly) weapons such as Abbadon's Grace and Hunters Mark and the Heavy Weapon Plasma Cannon. I won't even go into it but it's frankly beyond any joke I could make. Main point. Balance is Garbage. Fix it. I'm done and going to bed. One last thing: I don't mean to pick on you Eldar players. I know you don't want to get nerf'ed into the ground - I don't want to see that either. But come play some Space Marine.. against anyone really... and experience the balance.... after going 2 (wins) - 22 (loses) you'll start to look at the math over and consider balance this game is lacking.... Grab that stupid sniper rifler they have for the Tactical Marine... play a few rounds and weep.
Why didn't you account for the Shuriken Catapult's wider spread over the Boltgun making it easier to miss? In an actual battle, landing all your shots isn't going to happen often.
I'm more a proponent of leaving the eldar hit point/armour values as they are and just improving the Loyalist and Chaos space marine armour and hit point values. Perhaps the orks too to a lesser extent.
Are you sure? I thought the Boltgun's spread was square, and I know the Shuriken Catapult is a horizontal rectangle.
So much this, TTK is already ridiculous, buff the space marines armour and health, make them feel like tanks. If we nerf Eldar health, melee will shred them even more, not to mention the heavy weapons. Eldar would be very unfun to play as, because no one likes to get killed before they can react. (Plasma Cannon, Auto-Cannon, Backstabs)
You must think twice. If I can get instakilled by auto cannon or any melee weapon (same as marines) how bad would it be if we have less hp? I believe better would be if they raise basic HP and armour for Marines than nerf HP for Eldar. Would make much more sense. But anyway you have the point.
I actually would like this too. TTK is low enough in this game. No faction should be even lower. Giving marines a tad bit more default survivability sounds good to me.
