Taking the pad from the Krogan, offering the elder a quick nod, Valyza would look over the contract, noting with some amusement the details that came with breaking it. Truthfully, the affair was pretty basic and standard, as far as she could see, a youth spent on Illium having taught her the nuances of a shady deal. With a shrug, she'd turn her attention back towards the Krogan, replying curtly.

"Aside from the fact I don't think anyone will be letting anyone harvest their hearts willingly, no matter the circumstance, I don't see anything outlandish here."

As if to accent this, she'd bring up her Omni-tool, waving the glowing orange console over the pad. Upon the form, her signature would manifest, sealing her into the contract, before her tool would fade away. Hearing more about the planet, and it's environment, she'd make a mental note to stow away a rebreather for the mission, to avoid the hazard of the hostile atmosphere. Handing back the datapad, the Asari would then turn her attention to the growing scent of alcohol, noting the arrival of a somewhat ragged Quarian. To be fair, she'd not spent much time among their people, and thus knew little of their customs, but she'd had thought they typically did not display biotic ability. Seeing this one, so casually flaring up with potential, she could not help but be more curious as to newcomer.

  2. "Yeah I wasn't gonna mention that part out loud, might have ruined the surprise" Grukk replied to the Asari (@BruticusTheGoreHound ) as he took the datapad back with the contract information. The Asari seemed pretty adamant about not being left in the dark, she wouldn't have signed it if there was something fishy about it. And he didn't find any glaring legal jargon thrown into the contract himself. With a grunt, he too signed his name on the contract. (@dx144 ) "so...mysterious benefactor you say? We talking Shadow Broker here? Or someone else with an exobernt amount of credits?" He wasn't about to mention that he was already familiar with the Shadow Broker and ran a few jobs for whoever or whatever they are. Such a mystery of the identity-or possibly identities- of the Broker eluded him.

Before he contemplate further on this mysterious benefactor a quarian seemed to have stumbled into the fray, almost as if talks of Geth can spawn Quarians into existence. Grukk felt the universal "shoot it till it dies" explanation to be overly simplistic, and quite honestly information he already knew himself. He definitely didn't need a quarian to tell him that. But perhaps something the quarian could explain is how he was a Biotic. Due to the circumstances the Quarians found themselves in, such an occurrence might even be rarer then Krogans with Biotics. A gift he himself was fortunate enough to possess, but he certainly didn't need to flaunt it through a show of a biotic aura while around a group of strangers.

Now around a group of strangers trying to kill him, that would be a different story.

Besides, the class of heavy armor he wore already said enough about his capabilities, at least to those that were knowledgeable about it. Grukk looked over to the quarian (@DaKaptin ) and apparently had his own thoughts on the subject channeled into one of the two humans that seemed to be equally as quisitive he. "How curious." He spoke up, crossing his arms as he looked toward the envirosuit enclosed man, "it's to my knowledge that Quarians are born and raised on completely sterilized ships. Usually that'd make it nearly impossible for one such as yourself to be exposed to element zero. And even then, it's a miracle alone that you or your mother didn't die from it with regards to your degraded immune systems. So...care to share the answer to that mystery?"

  3. Gorlek let out a chittering laugh,

"Suit man want join now, what next, Volus? Be careful suit man, don't want tear sleeve and wipe out half race."

Gorlek remembered a crew of Quarians on a ship they'd "confiscated", the captain had got mouthy and one of the Krogan headbutted him to establish dominance. It'd craked the suit man's face mask and he died squirming in mere hours.

    Weakbloods.
  4. Seeing the Vorcha (@The_Dokta ) antagonize the Quarian had gotten Grukk's attention and distracted him from the conversation. Grukk wasn't one to take kindly from such intrusive distractions. "How about you lay off the Quarian a bit, Rodent? Lest I blink and you suddenly die of old age." Vorcha from what he knew were naturally aggressive as per their lot in life as a species with only twenty years on average to live. They live fast, and they die faster. He had to deal with his fair share of Vorcha in the past. Tenacious bunch of bastards they be, but canon fodder is what they end up becoming. At least that was how the Bloodpack has gone about treating them.

Not to say the little buggers have even began to notice as such. It just seems like violence and needless aggression is their modus operande. The fact that such a trait could be attributed to most Krogans as well is troubling. At least the Vorcha have the excuse of only having twenty years of life, Krogans can live for over a thousand, and yet constantly act as if they only have one hundred years to live. But Grukk no longer has such worries about his own species survival anymore, he knew damn well himself they were to stubborn to change.

He knew since he himself was too stubborn to change.

  5. It was strange to hear a Krogan defend one of the weakblood races, the Pact elders were always the first to mock those they deemed inferior to the Krogan's might. And they deemed all inferior. He had believed that it had been formerly of the Blood Pact itself, but such an interjection made him doubt. Pact Krogan either let it pass, joined in, or egged them on. He was taken aback by the strangeness of it.

"If plate face want to brood mother for suit man when he get sick that his problem, Gorlek thought the women clans stay on Tuchanka. Guess Gorlek wrong."
  6. At hearing the Vorcha (@The_Dokta ) speak back to him in such a manner Grukk simply groaned to himself. His eye twitched and his biotic barrier flared up immediately afterwards. The only thing Vorcha respected was power, and he had it in spades. If he let this instance slide without consequence the rodent would just keep trying him till he'd eventually kill them out of sheer annoyance. After all, he was still a Krogan. Even he had his limits.

"Excuse me for a moment" he muttered to those he was talking too.

He then walked up to the Vorcha, looked down at him. It would have been easy just to wring the vermin's neck in his hands. And if he was younger, But he was much more civilized then that. So instead he simply head butted the Vorcha square in his face. Not with enough force to kill the bipedal rat, but he certainly wasn't going to go easy on him for his back talk.

"Trust me, I don't care if they're willing or not. I honour the contract and thus so do all who sign it. Glad to have you aboard."

"Honestly, no idea. They remain mysterious and send me credits. Can't say I'm much more curious, never once had my credits delayed and till that stops, I'm happy to remain in the dark about who I work for. Sometimes it is better that way."

"That's enough, if you cannot work as a team I'll leave you here to rot on Omega, I don't care if you hate Quarians, if they're part of this team then they're your team and you'll treat them accordingly. So you've got a choice, you either make up and stop fighting, get the hell away from my crew or I'll put you down."

Brius brought his rifle to up to watch the two. The Vorcha might go down quickly but that Krogan could be a problem, with this band he'd just gotten though that might be enough to deal with him... Might...

"So what is it gonna be?"

Gorlek's kinetic shield flared at the power of the Krogan's headbutt, stopping the plated skull inches from his own face, but the force still causing him to stagger back a few steps. He felt a warmth in his chest as the shield automatically discharged a return electrical shock on impact, set to the low setting in civilized company, the sparks partially obscuring his vision. He quickly regained his balance and he briefly checked the Omni tools' screen implanted into his arm. Perhaps he wasn't wrong about the old Krogan's past affiliations, even if the hard edge had been dulled.

He responded to both the Turian and Krogan.
"Gorlek just saying, Pack is only strong as weakest link. Plateface not that link."

Eying the rifle, he fiddled his fingers and diverted more power to the shield.

"Then the Vorcha must be as dull witted as said. Some of you will be more thinkers than fighters and I've seen countless times how a weaker fighter has outwitted a stronger one and defeated them because of it. Never know that Quarian could help you rummage through Geth remains for whatever salvage you're looking for."

Keeping the rifle up and not wanting to drop it for a second, from things he'd heard the Vorcha even though they were weaker than other they made up for it with a fast attack pattern and even bloodthirstiness in combat.
  10. "Shoot them lots? Blind them? What freshblood not know go for eyes? Suit man say nothing not in Alliance files, less than, and first thing he ask for dumb-making liquid. Smarts may win battles, but need be strong too or smarts no help."

Gorlek holds up his left arm.

"I lose this arm in battle shoving grenade into rival Clan Krogan's bellowing mouth hole, still keep fight until all enemies dead, Quarians die from hole in suit. You employment boss, you decide who go, but Gorlek warn you suit-men die easy."
