  1. The turian's explanation would elect nothing more than a raise of Valyza's eyebrow, the claims of seeing wars and battles fare from an original claim. This was the Terminus Systems, and no matter where you went, you'd hear men and women thumping their chests, speaking of "The One True struggle" they'd endured in their lifetime. It was as the human, Shakespeare she believed, had spoken.

"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players"

Everyone was the main character in their own story, she'd think, and it was only natural to play up one's trials and tribulations accordingly. That this bareface would claim that his experience belied the reputation that came with his lack of markings and community, would be subject to debate. However, that would have to wait, as the woman crossed her arms, seeing that aside from the Vorcha, a strange development indeed, no others seemed to cautious at this strange being offering big rewards. Krogan and humans, she could understand, the hot blooded species always seemingly looking for a fight, but the Salarian had deemed this a cause he'd sign on for. He either knew something she didn't or was confident enough in his skills to see him through any trouble, which she supposed would be fair enough. One didn't get far in these stars without some boldness.

Seeing the Krogan, and older one by the look of him, ask something more information would be a good sign. Looking back towards the bareface, she'd speak up herself again.

"I'll also be wanting to take a look over the terms here."

Truthfully, she'd just wanted to see what exactly was written, to try and gleam some more information about the operation. Truthfully, she'd never actually seen a Geth, save for the vids of their raid on The Citadel, and that had been a poor source of information itself. She'd heard their ships were mighty, the flagship seemingly needing the entirely of a human fleet to take down itself, a great feat in itself. She knew even less about the ground troops, only that they'd sent the Quarians running from their own world, and had proved to be an army fit for a rogue Spectre.

Though she didn't want to admit it, the more she heard about this, the more she grew interested, and despite herself, the more she wanted to be involved. Human colonists coming under attack by the Geth, it would be a good opportunity to not only learn how to deal with this enigmatic foe, but also do some good while she was at it. A small twitch at the corner of her lips would be the only sign of some pleasure from this thought, as Valyza would realize her mind was made up.

She was going on this mission, it was only a matter of how she'd get there.

"Happily look through to your many heart's content. No nasty surprises waiting for you in there."

As the Krogan looked through the contract and asked his name the Turian was more than happy to give out another piece of information out.

"Brius Nazatis, Turian from Palavan. You?"

As the Krogan looked through the contract he found that it was a simple contract, whoever wrote it had no intention of using jargon that a lawyer would use with it being a simple laid out contract.

"I ------------------------- offer my services to Brius Nazatis for the duration of this mission to the moon of Makhaira, Kopis.

During this time I will comply with Brius Nazatis's orders and will be give 5,000 credits at the signing of this contract and then at the completion of this contract another 5,000 credits.

By signing this I understand what I am signing and will comply with this fully or Brius can rip out my heart/hearts and sell them on the market at cheap rates as that is all a contract breaker is worth.

    Sign here -------------------------"

"Very well Asari, look to your leisure, but please don't waste my time. I'm on a schedule today. I assure you thought it is straight forward, I don't like complex issues to arise. Do your job get paid, simple as."

  3. "Uh huh..." Grukk took a once-over the contract once more, making sure he read it correctly. Once concluding that he did indeed read the contract correctly he handed it over to the Asari (@BruticusTheGoreHound ) as she was quite vocal about looking it over for herself. "Names Grukk" he answered the Turian Recruiter by the name of Brius, "where I'm from doesn't really matter anymore. More concerned with where am I'm going then where I've been, honestly." The contract looked like it was quite simplistic for the job at hand-even if the whole ripping out and selling of hearts thing was a tad bit concerning-but looks could always be deceiving. The rest-side for the Asari- seemed to have been all too eager to sign their lives away, but Grukk sure as hell wasn't. "So, what do you know about this moon we're supposed to be clearing of Geth? Anything of significance that might be nice to know now then later?"

He took a glance over to the Asari as she looked over the contract. "Everything seem to be above board to you?" Grukk asked, the infliction in his voice being more quisitive then straight dead pan as he did so. Trying to gauge whether she saw the contract as satisfactory in regards to the terms. After all, the saying "two heads are better then one" rings true a fair number of the times. It is entirely possible she could have saw something that he might have missed.
  4. Gorlek let the explanation hang as the spike head moved on to address the rest of the now crowd of contractors, letting his face rest into the unblinking "Death Stare," as Warlord Goreborn used to call it, as he considered the details provided. The Turian's offer was sounding of interest, but the old Krogan had told his pack many times that there was nothing more important to contract negotiations than the hungry stares of Vorcha, besides the wisdom of their Blood Pact elders of course. When the creatures ceased their inquiries he interjected,

"Gorlek agree go kill Geth. We deconstruct the metal men for contract Clan masters. We desire payment in unmarked credits and salvage."

He lightly swatted the small pile of signed contracts as he said this but made no move to grab a writing utensil. Signatures were a holy thing, a bond paid in blood in his experience. Many deaths had been ordered with the signatures of the Clan masters, and they had collected the heads of many of those who ran from the obligations to those that had hired the Blood Pact. He had given his bonded word, his employment holder had agreed to his sums. By his summation the deal was completed up to the "finer details," which always seemed much more malleable and often changed up until the point of contract completion. Some had even tried change the fine details after the contract had been ended, but that had never gone well with the Krogan.

"Honestly, I know very little. It is one of the things this mysterious benefactor keeps doing is giving well paying jobs with little knowledge about their orders until they get there. We get the basics and it extends from there. But they've not put me onto a suicide mission yet so I think we're all safe."

Brius felt much more relax now that there wasn't a Krogan looking like he was either going to walk away or worse smash up the place. He was sure he could kill the Krogan but they never did go down without a fight...

"Little I know about Korpis is that it is within the Hades Nexus cluster. A desolate moon with a thin atmosphere so we'll need gear with us to breathe on there, shouldn't be a problem for most. Might have to see what we've got in the armoury."

The Vorcha when they weren't trying to kill Brius amused him.

"As I said before, rummage through the dead Geth if you want, not like anyone cares for them anyway. Credits will be same as everyone else."

Brius managed to keep his composure and play the part of someone happy enough with these dealings but he had to admit they became tiresome eventually.

"AND STAY OUT!" a batarian bellowed from the entrance of Afterlife as a Krogan threw out a deadbeat Quarian for all those waiting in line to get could see. "Remember the rules and pay your tab up front next time. Now get lost bucket head!"
Getting to his feet slowly, Jon'Nefin Vas Nedas brushed himself off without paying the crowed any mind. Checked his suit for any tears or leaks, then set off towards the docks. A human tried to take a picture of Jon as he passed. With a flick of his omni tool, his overload program put an stop to that.
'Bosh'tet. Can't even get thrown out of a bar without getting stared at.' Jon thought scornfully.
Not sure what compelled him to go, Jon simply followed the usual crowd of hired guns. Seemed like business as usual, each gang needed a steady supply of fresh bodies to keep the others in check. All that power playing amounting to little more than a deadly gang of tag compared to what Aria T'Loak had at her disposal. That would be a good way to die, pointlessly fighting for the top.
'Blood pack, too blunt. Eclipse, too much history. Blue Suns, too military. Grim Skulls, too stupid. Talons, too... keelah, what's this?' Jon thought as he came upon a strange sight. Before him was a small crowd of fellow freelancers. Turian, Humans, Krogan, Asari, Salarian, and even a Vorcha stood around a seasoned Turian speaking of the Geth. The word echoed deep into the very core of his being.
Jon stood in contemplation for a few minutes before speaking. "Alright, I'll bite. You're gonna pay us to break Geth... where do I sign?"
Taking to tablet, he signs 'Jon' and joins the rest who had signed on.
"Anyone know if drinks are provided during the trip?" Jon ask no one in particular.

"At least now if anyone has questions about Geth, this is the man to ask. Pleasure to have you aboard."

Leaving it hanging a moment before speaking up again, "I'm Brius Nazatis by the way."

"I see how it is, just leave it to the Quarian. If you want some advice for fighting Geth... aim for the photoreceptor, looks like a big omni-light for a head. Geth intelligence is also dependent on their numbers. The more we shut down, the less creative or tactical they're likely to be. Besides that, they break like any other synthetic creation when you fill them with enough holes." The thought caused Jon to send a surge through his biotic amp, which lit up with blue energies.
As this faded, Jon stared back with his glowing eyes behind his mask at Brius. "I'm Jon, Jon'Nefin, but people should just call me Jon. Does your ship come with a name and perhaps a lounge with a bar?"

"Shoot them in the head. That's all you needed to say."

    Brius laughed

"The shuttle, no. The Corvette we will be using to travel to there might have a slight supply, of alchol but it wasn't intended for such a purpose. If you'd like someone to complain to I'm sure the Alliance Military would love to hear it. Although they'd probably be more interested how come a ship that's being either registered as destroyed or missing is being commented on."

After a moments silence Brius spoke up again.

"I could ask around and see if we could get one put in. Don't know if it'd be worth the space it'd take up though."
  10. @DaKaptin | Putting his signature on one of the contracts Metcalfe handed it to the turian, turning slightly as the quarian approached and was introduced. He'd probably be useful, if only for his mind, but the appearance of biotic energy around his hand made Metcalfe raise an eyebrow.
"You don't normally see any quarian biotics. What happened to you?"
