As the the concept of kids was brought up, Grukk tensed up for a bit. Due to the genophage plaguing his people the odds of him ever having biological kids was incredibly slim if not downright impossible. It was a topic that bothered him more then he realized. "Huh...funny...I've been around for hundreds of years, seen many things, did many things...killed many things. Figured I already experienced everything this galaxy had to offer in this life. But I..." Grukk got awkwardly quiet for a bit as he looked down toward the floor and sighed. He looked back up toward Hans with a weak smile on his face. "So...you need credits for your kids education you say?" He brought up his omni-tool and tapped it a bit, "how much?"
Meanwhile in the simulator....... Aulpius cocked and reloaded his sniper rifle before taking a look around the room. It was clear. Why wasn't the simulation ending? He lowered his guard for a little bit, taking a walk around the empty room. "hmmm" he thought....... "maybe the simulator malfunc-" In the corner of his eye he saw a Juggernaut smash through the far-most wall. Opening fire with it's it's distortion rockets. With only a split second to react, Aulpius dropped dead. Landing in the sniper position and firing with precision, yet haste. BANG! the first shot knicked the behemoth's trigger fingers and the firing stopped. Aulpius cocked the gun and pulled the trigger, but his heart sank as he heard only the click of an empty clip. Aulpius swore in Turian. and quickly activated his cloak. "What do I do now?" he thought "Shields are too strong for the pistol and close combat is definite n-" "Wait...." He thought. He had an idea. With his cloak on, Aulpius got up and sprinted behind the geth, firing a single round behind him and getting the geth to focus it's eye ahead for a brief moment. But Aulpius was not in front of the Juggernaught. He was behind. Aulpius jumped upon the monstrosity's back. Using pulling his sniper rifle against the throat and bringing the titan off-balance. The geth tried viciously to grab Aulpius, but he was beyond reach. With one quick tug, Aulpius snapped the neck and the Juggernaught fell over dead. The simulation was still running........but Aulpius was getting tired......... meanwhile he could see a cloak deactivate behind him.
@dx144 In response to the human's words, the Asari would begin to gag, as if her stomach heaved from some illness. Lasting for a few moments, she'd halt her drama, placing a hand upon her stomach for good effect, before letting out a snort, clearly amused. "Ugh, I can almost feel my appetite being ruined. Let's hope your cooking has a bit more taste than your game." Though the words might have seemed harsh, there was nothing cruel or too mocking in her tone. While brushing off the words, Valyza still seemed in a relatively good mood, as she'd cross her arms, and shrug. "I have no clue, what's a good human delicacy? I've heard pasta is pretty good."
Hans still didn't realise what he'd really said, obviously he'd never had much contact with Krogan, the effects of the genophage weren't on his mind in the slightest. "I don't like to really say, private matters and all that. Let's just say, I'll need to be working aboard here to my death and that should about pay for it." Hans laughed as he carried on using his omni-tool and terminals. "Sure thing love, be about ten minutes." The Human Cook said as he wrote down a note and past it to the Turian. "So... What brings an Asari to this ship?" The Human Cook spoke as he started wiping down the area with a rag that had seen some better days.
"Right, right, personal matters and all that, I can respect that" Grukk's weak smile persisted on his face as he talked. An old wound freshly opened in his mind. A thought he figured long buried has rose up to take root once more. It has been awhile since he ever thought of the potential of offspring. There was that one time with an Asari, but nothing came out of it that he knew of. "Well I haven't been to a university in...well...you know" The old Krogan stated with a shrug, his Omni-tool still active as he looked through his personal accounts. Thumbing through what he had accumulated amongst his years during his career as an archaeologist, as well as the various odd jobs he's done in the past. It certainly wasn't a gigantic amount by any means, but it was enough to live comfortably year to year at least. He wasn't planning on retiring any time soon anyway. He would have gotten bored sitting around and rotting away for the next two hundred years. "Let's see here...should twenty grand worth of credits cover it?" Grukk asked flatly, letting Hans pick up on what he was implying.
@dx144 @Wata @BruticusTheGoreHound Jon was now well buzzed on the Turian Brandy. His confusing of the Relay 314 incident and the current crew was an obvious sign of this. Unfortunately for everyone else. When Jon became confused, he soon become angry, and they wouldn't like him when he was angrily drunk . All it would take is something to light the spark. "Music isn't really allowed out here. Distracts people." Laura informed. That did it... With a flash of blue biotic flames, the Sentinel's fist slammed into the table. Blasting a small hole into it. His words slurred, but his bionics in full display. "Maybe ssssome of uss want to forget aboot life fer a while! What, are you looking at? Too good to play cards with a Quarian? Who're you to judge that? Huh?!" Jon said standing up and making a scene. Those closest to the Quarian were forced to fall back or be caught in the wake of his biotic outburst. Basically a typical night for Jon in Afterlife. Only this wasn't Afterlife and Jon wasn't in the right mind to hold back.
@DaKaptin @dx144 Truthfully, she felt the charge in the air, before she heard the others nearest the Quarian tossed aside. An almost electric ripple would pass over her skin, cutting short any reply she might have sent the human's way, as her gaze would harden, turning to face this new threat. Her eyes would lock down upon the source of the disturbance, the biotic power of this being on full display, as she felt her teeth grit slightly against one another. It took only a moment for her to call upon her own reserves of strength, willing the power to focus under her command, her mastery of biotic ability shaping the element zero's energy within her. Her inhuman reaction timing, honed by years serving in a militia, and then in the wild Terminus systems, would have her left hand raised in seconds, as she decided on how best to deal with this problem. Stasis. In an instant, the Quarian would be coated in a layer of glowing power, a second suit along his body. The Asari directed the formation of the mass effect field, to lock him into place, halting his drunken assaults on the other crew. Tightening her open left hand into a fist, she'd speak towards those who had been affected by the Quarian's brief biotic flare of power. Her tone would be clear, and calm, reflecting the momentary control she had over the situation. "Get clear of the Quarian, he won't be held long." Truthfull, she assumed they would have about 18 seconds to move, before he'd be released. A testament to her advanced understanding of this technique, Valyza would prepare herself for the eventual failure of the mass effect fields, and the reactions it'd bring. She highly doubted that the Quarian would be pleased at being trapped, and with his armour and weaponry, coupled with her own lacking of both, she'd need to be ready to move quickly. Hopefully, drink made him easier to put down. She didn't feel like walking off bullet wounds before the mission even got properly started.
