Marks of the Gods

Discussion in 'Chaos Space Marines' started by Tassadarh, Aug 13, 2016.

  1. I don't like that they added in arbitrary penalties, the disadvantages were created because the Mark of Nurgle was added too early and the other teams complained but Wargear wasn't complete yet so the only thing that made it potentially unfair is that nobody else had their own stuff yet. Now we're the only ones who have war gear that basically hurts as it helps simply based on feedback that is already becoming invalid.

I kinda like the penalties, they are an effective and easy way to differentiate the characters.

My only fear (gameplaywise) is that those penalties makes the marks not viable for meta in any given circumstances and make the playstyle given by the mark way sub-optimal.

As for the Mark of Khorne? Which could be the penalty?
Tzeentch has reduced health, Nurgle Stamina regen, Slaanesh armor regen...
So for Khorne... increased bullet spread?

The idea of unlocking a permanent gameplay mechanic for each mark sounds fun too, but maybe a bit overpowered?

I'm sorry about my ignorance but... Will LSM have something like Marks of the Gods? I mean, if I role as a Blood Angel Could we use some kind of melee boost like MoKhorne meant to be?

I don't think they will get anything directly equivalent to Marks of Chaos since they are one of the things the make the CSM different than the LSM, though I'd be surprised if there isn't some wargear for the LSM that makes them better in melee.

LSM already have a direct equivalent to Sigil of Nurgle in the Halo of Toughness. Which only have ten less toughness for no stamina/fuel penalty at all.

  7. Didn't they say it was going to be a penalty to being healed?

    SoN clearly OP!
  9. I really like the Mark of Tzeentch strenghwise in it's current iteration. However I just had an idea on how to make it a bit more special.

So I thought why not take it's premise (reduced health as a tradeoff for reduced armor regen delay) and take it to the extreme^^.

Basically I suggest reducing the given armor regen delay to something like 90-95%.
So that way your armor starts regenerating basically THE moment you stop taking damage.

Of course this would need a reduction in armor regen rate aswell to not be completely broken (and maybe a further health reduction.)

The point of it would be that it would require a steady amount of burst fire to crack your armour but your healthpool is limited once they have broken through.

1000 bonuspoints if at some point the mark of tzeentch would be visualised with a flickering shield that lights up on impact :)
  10. The reason i dislike the penalty of the marks is that we already pay out the arse to get the mark in the first place with the loadout points.

Is the mark of slaanesh really worth it if it damages your armour regen speed by 50% AND noms up the majority of your loadout points?

I was under the impression that the point of Loadout Points WAS to be the drawback of taking said wargear, which is why i'm not so much into the idea of the marks right now. Too much investment for too little reward i feel.

    Just my two cents really.
