I'm afraid, as far as marks go, they seem to be rather integral. There's one 50 point item early in the game that allows you to take +12 armor in the slot where mark goes, but I've thus far found there's not a lot else to spend points for to capitalize on that. I suppose if you had an expensive weapon with a lot of mods in it, you might be able to run a glass-cannon, but that relies on chest-opening luck and I don't actually know whether such a mod combo exists as the possible mods don't appear to be listed anywhere. Later on there's the +40 armor standalone item in the slot, but I'm told that's prohibitively expensive. Nurgle and Tzeench both offer significant enough bonuses that, while they do enforce a kind of loadout and playstyle due to their negatives, form the cornerstone of most chaos builds. Slaanesh and Khorne, at the moment, aren't that significant in the bonuses they offer. Khorne wouldn't be so bad if the negatives weren't so strong, Slaanesh only offers a barely noticeable +movespeed and, for raptors, double equipped jetpack wargear effect, which is pretty meh compared to the hit-and-run capability lent by tzeench.
I must admit the Mark of Khorne is pretty shite, but when new marks came out they wern't ever very balanced ay?
Well Nurgle was nuts at the outset, then did nothing, then was super expensive, and eventually became okay, but I think Tzeench hasn't changed since it hit and offers decent power for what is is. Slaanesh has always been 'meh', too. I hope the patch 'soon' that brings the ork balance pass also looks over the two lesser marks to make them more on par with the first two.
Mark of Khorne needs to change a bite, Berzerkers need to strike powerfull before die. The fact no one can recive healings demands powerfull attacks, like banshee for exemple
What if MoK provided a buff to melee damage/penetration (as someone else has allready suggested around here) alongside the lifesteal?
It depends on how much will this buff .. no class to date has never lost the opportunity to be helaed, Such a loss is a significant handicap, which requires an appropriate gain
