To be fair, this is just lore-accuracy. SQUAD BROKEN, a legendary record of the adventures of one orkboy called Gurk, details how a single ork can easily take on dozens of Space Marines!
Discord is fine for lots of stuff, and I use it gladly. However, despite its claims, it does not do everything a TS server can do for large groups. Most of my gaming is in a multi-game outfit with thousands of members, using cross-channel voice comms like whisper lists and channel commander, add-ons like TFAR for distance and radio comms realism in Arma 3, back-end interactions with our rank and permissions databases, etc. Now, I won't be at all surprised if and when Discord does get to the point where it can replace TS for things like that, too--they certainly have started strong and keep delivering new stuff. But until that happens, their claims about never needing TS again are overstated and premature. That's marketing for you.
Could you stop saying GG after a really bad matchup or if a team gets crushed......it isn't friendly, just trolling. Reminds me of the GG gun from the sony station's Infantry game.
That's your interpretation. Most times an uneven match ends with, "GG. thanks for sticking it out, sorry about the matchmaking". Maybe you think it isn't friendly or trolling...because that is the way you use it?
I would then recommend that you choose to perceive it as a compliment to both sides rather than choosing to be offended by it.
I completely understamd, believe me. Usually in blowouts I'll help complain about matchmaking or something to show I sympathize, because again - I want people to enjoy the game, whether they win or lose. Granted, often I won't say gg when I lose, because I rage and salt as much as the next person, but if it was legitimately a close fought game, I'll GG to show my appreciation for the effort. I agree with saeritan though- it's all in how you interpret it, and while I'm often uncharitable in how I interpret his knife eared race, I try to be courteous if I say anything at all.
