Map Suggestion Thread

    Since I can't seem to dredge up any solid threads on suggestions for new maps or existing maps altered for different game modes I'd like to start one. Here's mine:

    Blackbolt (ToW) variant: Start with attacker spawn back beyond the trenches, expand the trenches in depth and in size, enough for at least two marines side by side. Limit Attacker vehicles with tank traps that surround the trench network so that transports can deploy people to 3-4 entrance points. Have a bunker complex at the center of the trench network. Make the bunker complex cramped, no place for jump packs. Once that point (Dubbed point 1 for the purpose of this post) is taken the next point is where A currently sits (Dubbed point 2). Capture of Point 1 has opened up the use of two vehicle spawners past the tank trap lines and allows for ordnance, tanks, and transports to break through the gate and advance on Point 2. More tank traps prohibit further use of vehicles beyond this point. Add a door where the elevator that ascends the wall up to B (Point 3) is and make Point 3 the third capture point. Add another capture point (Point 4) on the ground floor of the building across from Point 3 and force the two sides on either side of the road to butt heads directly with no vehicle interference. Once that is taken the attacking force can ascend to C (now known as point 5) from either side of the facility by using the stairs and lifts already present near Point 3 and Point4. Taking point 5 ends in victory for the Attackers. It'd be a slower battle than most due to the large number of points but I think it sounds like a harsh map suitable for a defence station in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium.

    While I don't want to limit the scope of this thread I want to keep it focused primarily on suggestions for new map designs and existing maps tweaked for different game modes. I'll ask you to bundle up any minor changes you have to existing maps in their existing game mode until you have a number of them you can post all at once.

    I think the best thing that could be done within the current limitations of the game engine is something I saw mentioned in another thread; add secondary battlefield objectives that provide some sort of boon for whoever controls them. It would give us a reason to use the 80% of each map that is completely ignored because it has no purpose.

    As much as I agree with you this isn't the purpose of this thread. The purpose of this thread is to pitch new map concepts as well as possible changes to adapt the current maps to a game mode that map does not currently support.
