Sounds like they threw all their money on a dream with no back-up plan whatsoever so after that dream did shatter they no longer had the necessary funding to make the game, AKA the "$70-million" they now need to develop CORE GAME-PLAY on a game that has been in development for 2 years.

ok as someone who LOATHES! preordering games i had such high hopes for this game i got not only the heresy pack ( and i will call it that till the day i die cause its 10x cooler than the rename!!) but i got the xeno pack as well ans i have no issue with these people leaving this is a good thing because this means other studios and games WANT these people so that means that these people are doing a good job and we should be grateful for the time they spent on this cool looking game. stop acting like children because things change and until an actual disaster occurs chill out. Ask Katie to talk to Tzeentch about all these changes and just let the devs do what they do best

What if Stabbing Pumpkin, er, Steven Lumpkin left to go level design for another Warhammer game?

First of all, I only saw one "Sneak things into the FAQ" and they certainly explained that. And in terms of historic things in this development cycle, I was referring to the transparent behavior. I should have been more specific, sorry. Every development cycle goes through tonnes of revisions and U-Turns. The development cycle for the original God of War for instance wen through so many revisions that by the time it was revealed to the public, the game apparently no longer resembled anything of the original product. The only reason we can complain about these "U-Turns" is because we have been made aware of them, voluntarily. Don't get me wrong: Behavior is a company and company's have one responsibility: to make money. We SHOULD be holding their toes to the fire whenever anything fishy goes on, but the vocal section of this community will hands down ensure this sort of open and honest dev cycle will NEVER be seen again. No need to be dramatic. Shit is happening. it happens in EVERY game, on average more than this. Talk to a WoW dev who was there from the beginning (if you can find one).

  8. Man, I feel bad that what could have just been a nice, heartfelt goodbye thread for Steven has been hijacked into yet another debate thread. Way to show your support guys.

Anyways, I wish you luck in your next endeavor Steven, and I am excited to see what it might be when that time comes. ;)

  9. Goodby @StevenLumpkin you will be forever remembered as one of our brothers.

Seriosuly though, Steve is a cool guy, sad to see him go.

Shame on you people for turning a goodbye thread into this bullshit, Steve doesn't deserve that.

Another leaves? That sucks. The team barely resembles the one we started with now. Not sure whether that's a good thing, or not, just yet.

Anyway, good luck with your future endeavors Steven.
