As it currently is an Eldar character is given the choice of male or female upon creation. This choice determines what gender every loadout on that character is. For the Space Marine faction the excuse might fly that all brothers are trained in every discipline but eventually fall into what roles suit them best. For Chaos this explanation shows one major flaw with not every Chaos Marine capable of being a sorcerer. The Eldar however break the farthest from this explanation, Eldar devoting themselves to the Path of the Warrior and then a specific Aspect. So if the elder cannot be a single character switching between Aspects then why not allow each loadout an extra option of customization depth? In one of the recent streams we saw the appearance tab on the Dev's loadout editing screen. My suggestion is that while one picks their craftworld at character creation, the gender of a specific loadout could be an option that is changeable on that appearance tab once it is finally added in.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Merciless poking of holes in my post due to me only having a glancing knowledge of Eldar and access to the Lexicanum during a five minute break?

Edit: Because a few people have brought this up I want to make it abundantly clear that this isn't a suggestion of something to be implemented right now. It's a concept of something neat that could be added sometime down the line when the important things have been taken care of.

I agree that every faction should select not only that, but for example, in the future the faces of the character for every loadout (same for orkz, not creating a character as a whole but some of them by customization)

Female Space Marines!

I'm sorry, couldn't resist taking that little bit out of context. On a more serious note I agree the Orks would need plenty of facial customization and it would be nice to have some for Space Marines and Chaos Marines. Expanding on your example though, what about selecting your character's chapter, legion, craftworld, or clan via appearance as well? It might take a little windo out of the devoted to your sub-faction sail, but it could be an interesting thing nonetheless. Maybe I just bring it up because I want my Apothecary to have a cool title like the Blood Angel's one has.

Lets not complicate things before everything is added, that being said I don't mind current system. But that is just me and my opinion

I rather not, because each faction will have their own special things, like night lords and blood angels being the best on assault. Sure, sounds good, but from a balance standpoint is not pretty neat...

Considering that eldar don't segregate by sex and that you're supposed to be playing -your- character in a war I don't see why it should be part of the loadout.

I think gender should be chosen at creation for now. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the OP's suggestion is bad. He makes a valid argument. But there are sooo many issues that are currently way more important than deciding at which level your character's gender can be set to female/male/attack helicopter.

Mostly because of the lore associated with Eldar Aspects. Course lore takes second seat to game design

Jokes aside I agree. Post is mostly something that could be implemented as an afterthought and at the very least is here so it does not go by completely unrecorded. Throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks as it were.
