Calm down you are sounding bitter.

The thing is the word for that employee is irrelevant since we defined how much they make, now if we gave them developers salaries then maybe I would concede that you are right since it would skew the resulting example.

As for it being minute, it is, what can I say. I am still interested in the subject though, are you saying I can't be even though I acknowledge how small this feature is in the overall game? If it can even be considered a feature at all.

Turning off the water for the devs...again you are demonstrating that you aren't quite grasping that this subject is about a small, non game changing feature causing unnecessary costs whereas taking away animations, water, etc. in your knee jerk examples are necessary costs to make a game.

Fortunately I am actually going to a meetup in a bit so I wont be back until later. That should give you time to calm down a bit, you're starting to reply out of character.

    YES, that would be amazing.

Especially with some quality 40k voice actors.

When you try to passive-aggressively say "you mad", it doesn't sound any better than the normal way.

The thing is, the employee doing the work is not irrelevant since one takes resources away from the development of the game and slows down the process, and the other is something that is normally expected for their job. And it's not just a "word for that employee", it's the type of employee. They are not freely interchangeable. You keep trying to defend your lack of understanding, and you just can't make that work.

You can be interested in whatever you want to be, but when you're calling it minute yourself, it takes away any consideration that it's worth the amount of ill-will it is generating with the playerbase.

It seems you didn't actually read my statement. That's been happening a lot with you. I said turn off the hot water in the bathrooms, not cut off all their water. As long as the water is there and they can use it, the hot part isn't essential, right? And hot water has a cost that is incurred. As long as the base game is there and we can use it, animation isn't essential, right? The Fallout series has certainly proved that people will buy a game with horrid animation. And as long as the base game is there and we can use it, globalchat isn't essential, right? And moderating globalchat has a cost that is incurred. Since you're using cost as your argument, those things are comparable. I'm sure you can draw the similarities in your head.

The point that we've been trying to get through your shoddy argument is that hailing this as a "cost-saving measure" is exactly as ill-thought-out as the other ones. It's saving such a tiny amount on expenses and potentially losing more than it saves in lost game sales.

and if you type in /1 and /2 only your faction can read. you can't talk in generals chat channel with an enemy faction.

only pandaren can talk with enemy faction pandaren but only in /say (that is limited by distance).

also daemon hunter can, but they must use daemonic language.

that are pretty much only for RPG and flavour, and don't allow access to global chat crossfaction but only local and limited.

At some point you could also use "draconic" to talk with enemies aswell.Or one of warlocks ccurses. But as he said there are addons that allow you to talk with enemies.

I'm not really sure why WoW is the go-to example for some people, though. If you want a PvP-oriented MMO, look at EVE. The entire game is about PvP in a hundred different ways, from direct combat to ganking to market forces and territory control and more. It is 100% focused on PvP and it allows talking with everyone at all times. Hell, the local channel is there specifically so you have an easy way to talk to anyone in-system with you.

Perhaps because it is succesfull?Or perhaps because it serves their point i guess.

Yes but it's not really a pvp game, or even a rated m game either. A better example would be blizzard's overwatch, and you can talk to the enemy team there and it ends up as lots of fun.

The people going to WoW seem to be cherry-picking one example of extreme casualization and catering to the LCD while ignoring how the majority of MMOs don't do that.
    Galen and BrotherShrimp like this.

So have the devs said anything else about all this? This topic is really one that's important, and I'd hope we could learn what they decide to do about this.
