Agreed. That is badass. I was wondering what the hell the Astartes is shooting here that required that much firepower? I imagine the Marine encountered Matt Ward and his atrocious lore for the first time and let loose his uncontrollable righteous fury. You gotta be absolutely 100% positive nothing is left. It's the only way to be sure.
It lacks the crisp sound of an explosion and looks like it isn't synced properly to me. It sounds like a car tire bouncing up and down a very bumpy road at high speeds. It is very equalized and doesn't have the peaks that I'd expect from a gun. It's perfectly fine for an RTS, but is far below the fidelity of what I expect for EC. Haha not to be a negative Nancy
Love the Space Marine design from Regicide... But, in the fluff Bolters aren't like SubMachine guns, they shoot explosive projectiles with the size of a human head... I think Relic's DoW 2 bolters were quite accourate in that matter.
0.7-1.0 calibre rounds that become rocket propelled, armour penetrating, explosive warheads in flight. Though Boltguns can have a full auto mode, Lore-wise SM very rarely use it and generally use single-fire or Burst-fire modes. In games, you only give a boltgun full auto as standard if you reduce the power of the bolt rounds.
Boltguns are a rapid firing RPG. Single shot, three round burst, rapid fire, who cares? As long as my enemies explode I'm happy.
I'm pretty sure you don't use single-fire modes on Nids.... well if you do, you are dead, simple. This is taken from the previous shortstory of Graham Mcneill: "The heavy bolter swings around and a stream of shells batters the gargantuan creature’s body. Most simply detonate harmlessly against its armour, but a few explode within the fleshier regions of its body."
