Rogue trader items wont really effect the silhouette though, they just add some extra details on the armor. What we are getting at here is the shape of the armor, so it looks more badass. Shoulder pads and grieves will hardly change with different cosmetics, so we want the base of it, without cosmetics, to look the way it should. Also the upper leg needs to be thicker and have a little less curve, the backpack is far from finished, the helmet may need a little adjusting here and there, shoulderpads are diffidently not done by my standards.
I understand that some people see comments like mine as nothing more than nitpicking. But I see things on the model that are wrong because they either don't fit in with the marine design ethos or don't make logical sense. With these models being Works In Progres, I feel it is important to point these problems out now so that bE's designers can fix any problems with enough time to finalise it before it's released.
Sorry, my reply was poorly worded. The belt is slanted upwards towards the front but it does sit on the waist. It IS the waist. The backpack is clearly not finished, they will add stuff. Sparseness will be fixed when they texture it properly. The EC belt is significantly lower than the Space Marine one, and both look fine to me. Though the EC helmet looks squished vertically
There isn't a reason in the world to believe this statement is true. Take a look at the Space Marine Champions shoulder. It certainly will change the "silhouette" of the model. Dark Angels robed armor will as well. The basic marine, I suppose, will be basic. The customization in the rogue trader will only be limited by what the devs want to do.
Interesting. It was watching the vid I posted and noticing how small the armour over the bum was what made me think it was hipsters! It is also strange as you'd think the 'Belt' would either be horizontal or be higher at the back. It's what fits with human anatomy. I still believe that the upper Breastplate looks like it doesn't contain any under systems especially power cables like those on the stomach armour. Plus I wish they'd get rid of the flexible stomach armour as it's not true to the GW vision, and logically that type of armour is weaker than both solid plate or Mk II overlapping plate. You don't want such a large portion of weaker armour, especially if it's covering such a vital area. I know why they have done it, gameplay reasons & Mo-Cap, but even that isn't logically sound in its execution.
Sweet Gork, yer right! The breastplate itself is minuscule compared to what it should be. Primarch: "WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?!" Space Marine: "Relax, dad, it's my armor." Primarch: "You call that armor? You're practically naked!" Space Marine: "Come on! Everyone's wearing it!" Primarch: "....NOBODY is leaving this strike cruiser until you cover up with real armor! I refuse to let my Marines march into battle dressed like that!" In all seriousness, though: the breastplate should be at least a third- or half-again- longer than it is. As it stands, they're basically ceramite crop-tops. (Cannot unsee.)
The damn FOV kinda stuffs up the look of the armor in game for me. But that aside, the chestplate and waist definitely need some remaking. Helmet needs to look a little more like SM's. Upper leg needs to be a little thicker, the hamstrings need to be thicker too. Gauntlets are alright. Backpack is a little too wide, the top part of it is alright I guess. bE has a thing for butts and crutches I swear, his waist and thighs need to be a little higher, but leave the crutch at its height, so its more like SM's. Shoulderpads I have argued about alot, they curve outwards too much, and they need to be a little taller. For gameplay, I'd like to see the character turned a little more, so I can see more of the shoulderpad, just gives a better view of the character, rather than seeing the backpack all the time. For the silhouette thing, I did just mean the basic armor, and how cosmetic wise, it just sits things on it rather than change the actual piece of armor, guess I'm bad at wording.
The thighs looks identical to SM's and I like both to be honest. The helmet is just too squished. If they stretch it vertically it'd be great. Comparing it to SM's which has a perfect dome, EC's helmet is literally squished and isn't a solid looking dome. I've noticed EC's model currently looks great in motion. They've changed the sprint animation and it looks way better. So I'm certain everything we're commenting on will be fixed
That helmet looks exactly like EC's and now I'm pretty okay with that. I think SM's helmet might be too tall honestly
