Malrus- @Maleth "I shall begin by heading to the docks and getting my way into the docks Schedule records from there I will see about which ship is the Iron warriors vessel and from there track when they are going to leave and possibly if they have any schedule delivery's if not I can at least Plan Surveillance and ambush sites from there and give you updates VIA secured Vox link Here take this frequency, This one should should be secure for us to talk to each other over." he said giving the Data smith a Vox number that would lead to one the secure Vox numbers he had currently in his helmet. It should be best I disconnect this after the mission is complete. Malrus to himself, As he left the Data smith and headed out for the docks. As he made his way to the docks he kept his electroleech stave in his hands as he began looking for the main Dock authority or possibly a unsecured Cognitor that would be of use into getting into there systems and begin a Unauthorized search or possibly a worker to bribe or intimated into getting his information.
After collecting himself and arcane artifact, Calcifer made for the ship's library. However little he could learn, even the chance of discovering previously unknown or forbbiden knowledge was worth the trip. As the former acolyte moved through the ship, he couldn't help but notice the thick putrid smell or freshly rusted footprints. 'Individually; a coincidence. Together; undeniable evidence. Those of Stagnation and Decay dwell here. Troubling, but not unforeseen. Act accordingly.' Calcifer thought, twirling the glowing item as he went. Taking to avoid the smellier corridors and hallways. Finally coming to rest at the indicated Library luminary sign. "Home... For now. What secrets do you hold?" He says aloud, pushing past the heavy automated doors. What he saw inside filled Calcifer with dread and the promise of future troubles. "Who just leaves books on their spines and on the floor!? You barbarains!"
~~ 'Night' Club | Purple Light District ~~ "Ever thought what Thanatos' motivation is? I mean to send you here? To slaughter like some mindless animal? Because he wants you to succumb to the same hatred that dwells in his heart. I know he ended where he is right now only because a Night Lord has overcome him. And all he sees in you is that Night Lord. He hates all of Kurze's abominations of terror, no offense. But all you guys do is terrorize all and everyone, like some Lictors." The woman shrugged and sat down at the bar, serving herself a good bottle of wine, her sword placed on the bartable. "Just tag me along, I testify we killed your target and that's that, mh?" Lucida took a shot of alcohol. ~~ Docks ~~ What he knew was that the cargo was going to be transported onto an Iron Warriors craft. And from just having been around enough on Hades station to understand that all traffic was handled and tracked at the spaceport main tower, which a 'neutral' faction of the local Mechanicus guild controlled. So probably to get up-to-date information his best attempt would be there. ~~ Mercenary Guild | Red Light District ~~ The good thing was that the Datasmith still had archive files on Hades Station and knew the most capable of all would be found here, but a reason why Thanatos would for example not recruit is because the Mercenary Guild is not just expensive and strict with those who can offer their services but because the most individuals here are straight-out brutes. Ork Pirates. Black Dragon Astartes. Beastmen Gangs. Dark Eldar Enslavers. Dark Mechanicus Skitarii. The choices were limited only to what one could offer... But who knows, if one could make the right offer, perhaps additional crewmen for Thanatos could be won? The various mercenary groups sat at various tables, talking about their spoils of war, future targets and some just take a drink to relax. The guild system was fairly easy. Either one was to make the group a direct offer, or went over the guildmaster who would be found at the end of the room. ~~ Elysium | Library ~~ But of course there was nobody to answer as the library was empty. Except for the books. It was a humble library, but with some tender, love and care - it could easily become a place of knowledge. The shelves were cheap, there was no order with the books, and mostly they were empty, too. But the 'acolyte' had a goal and the focus shouldn't be taken away from the Seven Deadly Sins.
Mini-Mission Part Seven Knightmare considered Lucida's words, filing away the fact that Thanatos had encountered, and been bested by, Night Lords before. He rejected the woman's offer to lie about killing Kymeros, reasoning that the Blood Angel wouldn't trust him without proof, and he also rejected her assertion that he would fall as Thanatos had.
Looking at the mercenaries he could hire, Raternle could clearly see there was a difference between "Competence" and "Ease of convincing them to work for him" as for instance it would be far easier to convince either Orks or Beastmen to follow him, while Astartes and Skitarii would be far better but need more..... Maintenance on his part to ensure loyalty. He decided that the Beastmen would be too weak, and that the Skitarii might take offence to him taking from the Dark Mechanicum, which left him the Dark Eldar, Orks and Black Dragons. The Dark Eldar didn't seem the most trust-worthy of candidates, given that they might sell him out to Thanatos if they though it was a good option and the Ork wouldn't be a good choice for subtle plots.... And the Black Dragons might take offence to being used to fight their fellows. So the Datasmith went with the Orks, deciding that some dumb muscle was good enough and that more subtle minions would have to be found later. Thus the Mechanicum man and Robot approached the Orks and Raternle said "I have a job offer for you lot. A cargo container containing something valuable to one of my rivals is on the station, an associate of mine is busy locating its exact location as we speak. I need you to claim it. If you do this task, I will offer my skills to improve your weapons and armour..... and I can take you along for even more fighting. " He hoped the offer would work, and he could try sweeting the deal with things like money if they wanted a bit more.
~~ 'Night' Club | Purple Light District ~~ "Ooooor perhaps I earn myself his favor by bringing him your head? Your choice fellah. Live and deal with me. Or die." She took another shot of alcohol and then laughed wholeheartedly. "But seriously. Ever considered what if your target you know. Is out of your reach? Ran away? Not even on the station anymore? Not even the mercenary guild expects to get that head anymore. Not that I am here to crush your hopes to impress a strange Blood Angel to win his favor, rather than just sneak on his craft and force him to let you join, or else you sabotage his craft, or something. I mean. How do you know that he is not even going to lead you into a suicide mission?" Her back was still turned to Kurze's child. ~~ Mercenary Guild | Red Light District ~~ "An 'umie hu finks we be brehn ded!" The leader ork laughed. "Luk. Wi arrr forma Deff Watchas. So u betta giv' a gud deal. Really gud. Els' go tu da Drahgehnz!" He pointed at the Black Dragon Astartes. The other Orks laughed at the Datasmith.
As raternle stood about making his decitions, and trying to stir up a conversation with the orks, a thing happened that might be considered normal within the intire red light district itself, as the sudden loud easily recognizable bang of a handcannon sounded and one of the beastmens head simply exploded from the high caliber weapon, for a short moment the assailant was seen, a man in a long black trenchcoat had started what most properly happened at least once a day in that bar, as all hell broke loos when the second was over as he himself dived away as he fired off more shots at general groups, sparking the bloodthirsty anarchy of most as he dove to cover, ready for all hell to break loose, as the beastmen would certainly want revenge, while so many others just wanted to fight and spill blood.
Malrus- Main communication tower- Malrus walked on Coming out of the docks towards the main communications towers to make his inquires, As he began moving he would soon come upon the stations of the dark mechincus, Deciding it was a good idea he would go first with the diplomatic and subtle approach, Looking more into the Iron warrior ship, and what the traffic around it would be, possibly even if he could get a schedule of shipments it would be sent. He would approach first a simple agent of the dark mechincus possibly one that could take him to his bosses or get him his information.
Among the growling, squawking, and oozing beasts that walked like men. Sat a bulky curve horned Gor with a pump action assault shotgun strapped to its back. Went by the name Jericho Bloodhorns, named after his former tribe. Since his failed attempt to take over as packmaster, the broken horned warrior had spent his days killing and drinking. Jericho was a fit warrior with wounded pride, accepting any work that would help keep his cup full. What wasn't spent on spirits, was gambled away. As a strange Mechanicus arrived at the Guild hall, Jericho pay little mind to the nobody. The cards in his hand finally showing some promise. Two sets of matching faces and a single marked star(ace). 'No jobs today. Today I drink till morning and not wake up till next day's end.' He thought simply to himself as he raised the pot. The final card was faced up. All twelve of Jericho's finger were locked on his five cards in concentration. His large bovine ear with a meta tag twitched in the direction of the Tech Priest. The sound of a special cargo peeking his curiosity, though not enough to butt into his attempts to enlist the Freebooters. From the sound of it, things could be going better. Unlike Jericho, now with three matching faces and a pair on another to go with it. The pot now a medium sized mound of credits, coins, scrap, and iho sticks. All that changed with ear wrenching blast sounded within the Guild room and into the Beastman dealer's head. Brain matter and gore splashed onto the table and cards. Jericho had been facing the card dealer, luckily he had been so focused on the pot and his cards that he had been hunched over to better guard his cards from the snack mouthed mutant sitting next to him with retractable eyes. With blood in the air, the table was thrown into the air by the remaining beastmen gangers. They howled and screeched in fury as they turned their weapon on the other tables. Instead of turning his club sized shotgun on the crowd, Jericho had picked his axe from the floor and simply charged the closest thing to him. Impaling one of the Ork pirates near Raternle, then ripping it free with a powerful wrench. Adding to the chaos, more handcannon fire rung out, taking two more beastmen with it. Turning to see where the fire had come, to no avail. The smell of bloodshed and the sounds of battle prevented him from tracking the assailant. However he did managed a glimpse of a long black trenchcoat before turning his attention back to the Freebooters and the bargaining Tech Priest. As the only other new face, Jericho worked out that they two must have something to do with each other. Not the deepest thinking this one. @Maleth "Who you are? This your tribe's doing? Because you, I no win big spoils pot! Speak truth or I kill you with axe!"
Mini-Mission Part Eight "You seem determined to join the crew. And you seem completely ignorant of me." Knightmare had to agree with some of Lucida's words though: it appeared that his prey wasn't in the club. Gently sighing the Night Lord turned to regard the woman. "Come with me if you wish." On his way back to Thanatos' ship Knightmare tried to work out a way to spin everything in his favour. Maybe offering Lucida to him would work, the hatred between the Slaaneshi and Khornates was legendary and well-known.
