@Vulpas "Alright that sounds like a fair deal. Depending on what you need resources shouldn't be to big a problem and I should be able to pay you after this mission. But what exactly do you mean by a favor," Garth asked in a questioning tone.
~~ Deployment ~~ The group all had been put in a Thunderhawk, save for the sentinel which got put into a cargo container, the pilot of it having a seat in the Thunderhawk as well. Once everyone was seated, it became evident that there was no designated pilot. So their local Warpsmith (@Vulpas ) was forced to take the wheel and bring the bird down upon the Eldar. If anyone was going to take the guns was a different story, nonetheless the Hangar opened and he brought the Thunderhawk towards the planet. The flight was going to take a little while, probably just enough to figure out a battle plan. The ship's navigation and at least the Astartes in the group got waypoint updates of the library. For the rest there were a bunch of data-slates around with the same information of orbital scans and waypoint, just without the comfort of having it right on a HUD. It was a pretty much straight-forward objective but dangerous. Once the Eldar would know their target, they would do whatever they can do defeat them. Then there was the point that how many of these individuals under Thanatos actually did fight Exodites before. The Bobs sat near the ramp, while the Rogue Traderess San-Seraph sat down next to the Night Lord friend of hers. -Malrus Malrus sat in the cock pit taking control of the thunder hawk, Most of the weapons were online, He ran checks on them as he took them to there destination, "Anyone back there want to take control of some of the weapons on this thunder hawk?, I expect the eldar to have defensive, likely anti flyers as well. When I land you all at the coordinates." "I Can give run bys if supported by the ground team, If you all run into anything heavy Try to Vox me while I keep our thunder hawk in the air and if you could try to eliminate anything that would take me out of the air if you could?" Malrus asked the crew in the back of the thunder hawk as he flew them towards there objective. He kept his eyes out and on the rader for anything that looked like anti cannons that could take him out of the air. -Mortimor Mortimor was near the front of the thunder hawk, As he sat with Cerberus beside him he looked to those others in the hawk, a young women seemed to have joined them along with two former loyalist Crimson fists, He wondered about her, Remembering her from the library, Then looked to the gathered forces, "If my memory poses me right, Eldar are one of those fast like Xeno's, Try to keep your eyes out when facing them, I heard they tend to be sneaky." he said giving a bit of advice to the others. "If I may suggest a idea, I think it would be good if we keep moving when reaching the ground, I suggest moving in a vanguard formation with those that are good in melee in front, while are psykers support us in the middle, with those that are good in range move in the back and keep eldar off everyone's back while the front hacks its way towards the library." Mortmor suggested he coughed several times after his suggestion, wheezing a bit after.
@Casavay Tyranus took his seat in the Thuderhawk next to Sarcopha. He had been quiet for quite some time except for his heavy breathing and occasional coughs. He did break the silence though as he thought more on what was about to happen in the near future. He turned to look at Sarcopha, "When the fighting starts....stay close to me Sarcopha....I shall ensure you do not....fall this day." He drew his scythe from his back and planted it on the ground. He then leaned forward on it, look straight ahead, and spoke again, "I would feel better....if you could say a prayer to our....dear father Nurgle for more....death and pestilence to be spread this day. "
@Vulpas "That would be a good plan." Raternle conceded, the Astartes having beaten him to a reasonable plan before he could suggest one. Seeing the wide assortment of talent in the group, the Datasmith was confident of the groups chances of succeeding in this endeavour, but the wide assortment also meant that it would be challenge to keep everyone on the same page. Still, he took one of the dataslates so that he could view the same information the Astartes had as he would not let himself rely on anyone to complete the mission.
Getting up from his seat in the Thunderhawk Garth moved towards the gunships cockpit. "I'll man the weapons station warpsmith, these controls shouldn't be all that different from the controls on my Sentinel," he informed Malrus after taking his new seat.
Thunderhawk Knightmare went over the attack plan uploaded to his HUD. Smiling to himself beneath his helm the Night Lord wiped the locations of the waypoints, carefully plotting out a new set. What he'd told Thanatos upon first meeting him was true: infiltration was one of his specialities, and he planned to use his skills to aid his for-now allies and also further his own agenda.
Thunderhawk Sarcopha had reclined in her seat, eyes closed and robe pulled tight around her form when her brother had begun to speak. She was warm, so warm, but sometimes, her third eye saw something, and then everything was cold. Denying it would be futile: the Vulture Prophet was in the process of falling asleep, already between here and Neverland as the deep, inhuman voice of her nigh-divine brother had torn her back into this reality. "Hnuh- prayer? Ah..." It took her a moment to settle, sleep in those eyes that were half-lidded, and the other ones confusedly gazing at the Plague Marine. "A prayer for the flock. Yes, uh. Splendid." Not bothering with the smile, Sarcopha bent slightly forwards in her seat, clasped her hands, and began monotonously chanting. O Master of Life and Death, beloved of his Children, Father of Disease, Great Papa Nurgle, drive away foul constellation that leads Your faithful's foe to Your flock. Lead us to our destination, as you lead our foes to death, so that they may serve You in their demise. And if You see it just to take us to You, to sit at Your feet and take our place in Your garden, to unite the child with the Eternal Father, leave our fleshed hull intact so that You may use it for Your craft, and Your blessings, and Your love, so that life may ever spring forth from death. For within this neverending circle lies your love. But still we ask, great Father, that You will see us succeed, for we know You smile upon us, and our success would make our Father proud, whatever our task. For Yours is Death, and Life, and Eternity, unchanging.
~~ Phase 1: Resistance ~~ The moment of prayers passed as Malrus (@Vulpas ) brought the Thunderhawk into atmosphere. Almost as if the attack was anticipated, a huge flying beast launched for the Thunderhawk, spitting a massive beam of heat upon the Thunderhawk that scorched it, but luckily not damage it (yet), but the heat-alarms went off as if the Thunderhawk was getting slowly too close to a star. Luckily it was alone so far, perhaps the Warpsmith could deploy the troops before taking care off it, or in general to make it safer they may take it out first? Nonetheless, as it was done spitting fire it gave the aircraft a mighty bodycheck, shaking the entire craft and almost decoupling the cargo-container, containing their Sentinel. The beast turned close-up to be as big as the Thunderhawk if not even bigger. Indeed this must be one of the legendary flying Dragonoids the Exodites were famous for to hold, even though those beasts usually were known as ground-mounts, similar to that of horses of the Rough Riders among the Imperium. "A good opportunity to see our pilots' mettle tested," Simeon remarked drily, having seated himself opposite of the Night Lord and the Rogue Trader. His dim-lit eyes flitted between the other Astartes and the woman. Then he focused on the marine. "When we hit the ground, I think it's a good idea for us stealthy types to team up. Or not - your choice, Brother." The Flesh Tearer did prefer scout armor, after all. It probably indicated a certain skill within the field.
