This isn't at the top of the development team's agenda, I realise, but...

I find the sprinting animation for loyalist and traitor space marines to be severely triggering.

It's never really mentioned, mostly because it's very trivial - however - it is my opinion that the sprinting animation for the aforementioned factions looks... odd.

Now I realise we're talking about super humans here, but even they must know that swinging one's weapon about while'st running is a hugely inefficient way to move. Think of the weight of a bolter, for instance; we see characters in-game running with only one hand grasping the gun, all the while swinging it in a full arc as if they were carrying nothing at all.

Now I know that this revelation is not quite as groundbreaking as I'm making it out to be, but, for the sake of quality of life in EC, I think some adjustments should be made to said sprinting animation.

... and yes, I do realise that using the logic of "efficiency" in the Warhammer universe is a poor decision, however my argument is as much about making the animation 'look cool' as it is about seeming more realistic.

Perhaps the developers could have LSM and CSM point their weapon upwards with their elbows at 90*, in rest position?
How about having the characters sprint holding the weapon with both hands?
Regardless, I understand that this will take work to implement.

Is anyone else as triggered by this as much as me? What's your opinion on this?

I honestly think we should take a look at space marine here. They would shift the boltgun in their grip and hold it around the centre, just in front of the magazine feed, bracing the weapon in their grip and only really swinging their free arm.

Looked better to me, that's for sure!

Damn, forgot to suggest something like that in my post. Yes, Space Marine (surprise surprise) is a good example of a powerful and meaty running animation. EC's is very similar, only the gun of the character is not rested in a natural position while sprinting.
  4. When it comes to animations the Space Marines are way down the list I'm afraid.
Have you seen the Orks animations? It makes yours seem buffed and polished to perfection.

  5. It has never caused me to think about it.
  6. It looks like they're wearing dirty diapers, just awful.
  7. Used to be far worse. Glad we don't have that anymore.

We had a sprinting animation where the space marine kept the gun pointing up in the first months of alpha. I prefer the current one, even if it's a slap in the face to the concept of gun safety. But who cares, I strap rocket to my back so I can boost headfirst toward the ground, so much for safety concerns.

Agreed, The Captain Titus Power Hour was basically everything an astartes running animation should be. Even the tiny shakes of the screen when his boots hit the floor were perfect without being annoying
  10. The animation isn't exactly great, but it's actually the best running animation in EC - which kinda says a lot.
